The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has stated that “from November 28 to December 4, no migrants were rescued or intercepted at sea and returned to Libya”.

The recorded number of returned migrants to Libya from the sea since the beginning of 2021 remains unchanged, 30,990 were returned, 506 deaths, and 807 missing.

The Libyan coast is witnessing a severe turbulence in the sea currents, along with strong winds and heavy rains that prevent sailing in small boats.
