Member of the Presidential Council (PC), Mousa Al-Koni, and the President of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum, have affirmed the necessity for combating terrorism and illegal immigration and securing the borders between both countries, to end the presence of military formations which threaten the stability of the region.

Al-Koni stated, during his meeting with Bazoum in Niamey on Monday that the immigration file needs to be dealt with through a similar outlook between both countries in cooperation with the European Union, along with working towards development in the source countries as a disincentive.

For his part, Bazoum confirmed his country’s support for Libya’s vision for dealing with the extraordinary issues raised through immigration and working to cooperate in its implementation, in the best interests of both countries.
