The office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Libya has provided five emergency health kits to Ghat as part of the WHO's humanitarian response to the desert town`s crisis. The kits are designed to meet the basic health needs of 5,000 people for approximately three months and should help reduce the burden on health facilities providing primary health services to thousands of people. The organization said it was working to make Ghat General Hospital fully operational in the coming weeks.

French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, has confirmed his support for the road map proposed by UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, which paves the way to presidential and parliamentary elections next year. The Information Office of the Presidential Council stated that Le Drian told the Chairman of the Presidential Council Fayez Sarraj in a telephone conversation on Tuesday that the elections will be a way out of Libya crisis.

The Tripoli Branch of the Illegal Immigration Agency said on Monday that 131 illegal immigrants from Nigeria were sent back to their country via Mitiga Airport in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The Agency added that the repatriation of these migrants comes within the voluntary return program, which is supervised by the United Nations.

A number of school principals in Kabaw town, situated in the Nafusa Mountain in western Libya, have postponed school classes to the next two weeks as a result of unfinished maintenance work and a lack of textbooks. There is also a serious lack of supplies and equipment, which is needed by the students and teachers alike. Public schools had only resumed in Libya last Sunday after a three-week strike organized by the country's teachers’ unions to demand better living pay and conditions.

The Department of Banking and Monetary Control in the Central Bank of Libya has declared that the new coin dinar currency issued by the parallel Central Bank in eastern Libya is not to be dealt with in any form. It stated in a publication on their official website on Tuesday that the currency has not been issued through the correct procedures and is considered as illegal. The Central Bank of Libya reiterated that it’s the only institution that has the authority to issue new currency. The parallel Central Bank in Bayda announced the launch of a new coin dinar currency for trading on the second of November, to be traded alongside the current paper category.

The National Safety Department (NSD) rescued a family in Derna, whose car was burnt on Monday evening. Witnesses said that a safety team rescued a family, including children after their car was set alight and they were trapped inside. According to the witnesses, the reason for the car fire was due to the owner's misconduct who attempted to fill his car’s fuel tank with a bottle. It is worth noting that Dignity Operation armed groups, which are surrounding Derna, are preventing the entry of fuel supplies, forcing people to buy fuel in gas cans from the black market at very high prices.

A source from Al-Ahli Tripoli football club confirmed that the club's management had reached a preliminary agreement with the Serbian coach, Branko Smiljanić, to manage the club as a successor to the previous coach, Egyptian Talaat Youssef. The source added that the agreement is nearly finalized with the Serbian coach, noting that there were some minor details regarding the contract, which would see Smiljanić lead the club in the quarterfinals and the rest of the Libyan Football League matches. Smiljanić is famous in Libya after a successful period with Al-Ahli Tripoli`s main rival Al-Ittihad FC, when he led the club to two consecutive league wins and the semifinals of the African Champions League in 2007.

The Ministry of Education has expressed deep apologies to the Municipal Council of Tarhuna, the people of the city and its institutions, following an error in the fourth grade Arabic Language textbook, which was regarded by the city’s residents as “offensive”. The ministry made an official apology for the mistake on the cover of the textbook and confirmed it was unintentional, stressing that everyone is proud of Tarhuna`s role in reconciliation and reunification. The Municipal Council of Tarhuna has expressed strong concern at what they considered an abuse of the city and its people after a photograph on the cover of Arabic Language in the primary stage depicted an injured girl, referring to her as being “a victim of the misuse of arms”, adding that “she was injured in Tarhuna”.
