The Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, disclosed Wednesday that Libya’s oil production had dropped to 523 thousand barrels per day (bpd), expecting the output to recover and hit 600 thousand bpd again on Thursday.

Social efforts by a committee of southern notables and elders managed to bring the two warring tribes in Sabha into signing a ceasefire for three days starting 11:00 p.m Tuesday.

General National Congress member, Ehmid Al-Ruwaimi, managed to dodge an abduction attempt Tuesday morning after he was coming out of a mosque in Al-Galili, Misallata city. Al-Ruwaimi was attacked by gunmen and tried to get him in their car at gunpoint before the nearby mosque-goers interfered and Al-Ruwaimi was able to get away from the kidnappers, who also ran away.

The spokesman of the Sirte Municipality said that Ayadi Al-Khair Charity in Tripoli sent a humanitarian convoy containing foods, cleaning materials and furniture for 420 families in Abu Zahiya and Al-Gurdabiya districts in western Sirte.

A number of people went on a sit-in in front of the Courts House in Tripoli on Wednesday to call for revealing the truth behind the murder of sheikh Nadir Al-Omrani. The protesters held slogans urging for finding and arresting the perpetrators and calling on February 17 revolutionaries to stand together to secure the capital.

Derna residents welcomed the reopening of the city’s security department to fight all the crimes and lawlessness in the city, saying they appreciate the efforts of the municipality, the head of the security department and the security personnel in that regard. They also called on the businessmen of the city to support the department to help it conduct its work within and around the city.

The coordinator of the Ras Lanuf oil terminal, which is run by Al-Harouj Company, said the Greek oil vessel Menrva Zenia will dock at the terminal Wednesday to be laden with 650 oil barrels to be transported to Italy. He added that the Korean oil vessel Kriti Breeze will also dock at Ras Lanuf terminal on next Monday when it is going to be loaded with one million barrels of oil to be transported to the US.

The General Authority of Ports said that the Sea Constructions Company has finished working on paving the containers platform in the port of Al-Khums with a total area of 7.5 hectares and now the port is ready to resume work.
