The head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, has issued a decision to halt two employees of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) from working. The reasons given for this decision is what he called their abuse of their authority, which is harming the interests of the state, and obstructing the Audit Bureau from carrying out its work, as well as their refusal to submit the documents required for examination and review. The decision, issued Tuesday and signed by Shakshak, paves the way for the suspension of Mokhtar Al-Taweel, the Director of the Banking and Cash Control Department, and Abdul-Hafid Treble, the Deputy Director of Banking and Cash Control Department.

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) confirmed on Monday its readiness to work closely with the Libyan judicial authorities to address practices relating to the treatment of migrants. A statement by the UNSMIL indicated that the UN mission had been informed of the Libyan government's announcement to open an investigation into recent allegations of abuses on Libyan territory against migrants. The UNSMIL called for such investigations to be carried out quickly, impartially and effectively.

The eastern MP, Ziad Daghaim, has accused the UN special envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, of creating a stalemate on the Libyan political scene. Daghaim said that Salame was not sincere in his initiative to resolve the Libyan crisis. He stressed in a press statement that Salame`s approach did not lead to any solutions at the Tunisia meetings, adding that the UN envoy succeeded in confusing the scene whilst influencing the initiative of a comprehensive vision. “Our team will offer multiple options if Salame insists on discussing each point separately”. Daghim remarked.

The Executive Director of the National Program for Immunizations in Tripoli, Sadiq Bhailel, has declared that the number of doses that have been distributed since the start of the vaccination campaign against seasonal influenza on the 18th of this month amounted to one million ones throughout Libya. Bhailel said in a statement posted on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Health that the campaign will continue for two weeks and can be extended, adding that the dose reduces chances of catching the flu to those with a less functioning immune system and is completely safe. He advised all those who could be affected to take the vaccination.

A group of military officers and a number of security agencies in the areas known as the basin of Murzuq in southern Libya have formed a joint security room to control security in the region and to protect the borders. The officers affirmed the commitment of the joint security room to cooperate fully with all adjacent areas to the Murzuq basin and to alleviate the suffering of citizens while working with support of all official institutions of the state. In turn, the Social Council of Murzuq declared that it would be the social incubator of all military formations in the region, adding that the aim of this security movement is to activate security and maintain stability in the Murzuq basin area.

The Minister of State for Displaced Persons, Yousef Jalala, held discussions on Tuesday with the leaders of the Dialogue and Reconciliation Committee, representing Misrata and Tawergha regarding the proposal for implementing the agreement and how to pay compensation to reduce the damage caused between the two parties. Those present at the meeting also discussed ways to help the town of Tawergha in receiving the IDPs in coordination with the security agencies in charge, and aiding ministries, agencies and service institutions to prepare the town as soon as possible for those returnees.

The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) declared that the United States military launched airstrikes in Libya against ISIS fighters on November 17th and 19th, near the town of Fuqhaa in the central Jufra town. It explained that the airstrikes were conducted in cooperation between the United States and the Presidential Council. AFRICOM reported that the first airstrike occurred at approximately 9:30 am local time in Libya on Friday, November the 17th, while the second strike took place around 12:30 pm local time on Sunday November 19.

“Because They Are Our Hope” was the first children's festival organized by the Culture Bureau of Sirte in cooperation with the National Training Center. The festival concluded on Monday at the Romanian Theatre, located at the Sirte Family Park. It included a number of recreational activities presented by cartoon characters for the children as well as cultural quizzes. The Organizers also set up a coloring workshop and concerts with songs performed by the city`s school activity group. The Farah musical band from Misrata also presented musical performances, according to the Information Office of the General Authority for Culture. The parties and figures supporting the festival were honored at the end of the event and prizes were awarded to the children who won the cultural questions and coloring contests.

The Health Coordinator of the Committee responsible for the treatment of Libyan cancer patients in Jordan, Walid Jilani, said on Tuesday that the King Hussein Cancer Centre and hospitals in Jordan have stopped receiving new patients from Libya for treatment. Jilani said in a statement that the suspension came on the basis of complaints received from the hospital regarding the increase in the number of patients, which in turn is causing overcrowding on their wards. Jilani added that cases received in Jordan before the date of the complaints are still receiving treatment on a continuous basis and are in receipt of the monthly treatment grant.
