A convoy of the UNSMIL that included four men and two women were released after being detained by an armed group for hours on Wednesday evening, security sources from Al-Zawiya city reported.

A cell linked to Khalifa Haftar's Dignity Operation was arrested in Gharyan, according to sources cited by Al-Nabaa TV. The group of men were plotting to execute some destabilizing acts in Gharyan city, some 90 km away from Tripoli. According to Al-Nabaa, the cell is made of an officer and a member of the city's elders council as well as a number of volunteers.

Al-Ahly Tripoli football team arrived in the Tunisian city of Sfax on Tuesday morning to enter a training camp before the decider with USM Algeria, in the the African Champions League. Al-Ahly will play their match next Friday at the stadium of Tayeb Muhairi in Sfax.

Subrata Military Council announced their intention to form a force enlisting the city's residents to maintain security in cooperation with the security services within the framework of a joint security operations room. In a statement released by the council and published on their official Facebook page, they clarified that the decision to form such a force was due to the deterioration of security and increase in crime rates, illegal immigration and hijackings, pointing to the absence of security patrols, checkpoints and lack of visible army and police personnel as the main cause.

Sources close to the management of Akhdhar Football Club in Bayda have stated that they have officially agreed with Libyan coach Jamal Abu Nuwara to train the club's first football team. The sources added that Abu Nuwara will start training the team after the Eid holiday. The team is to start training at a training camp in Egypt in preparation for their entry into the Libyan football league, which is scheduled for next August.

The General Electricity Company has pleaded with citizens, factory owners and companies to reduce their energy consumption as much as possible during the coming days. The company is doing its best to make citizens more aware in order to maintain some form of stability in the electricity grid and reduce the hours of electricity cuts. The company also stated in what was labeled as an urgent message that this comes after reports of heat wave that is set to sweep across most parts of the country until next week.

Hefter’s media sites have announced that a former commander in Gaddafi’s brigades, Brigadier General Mabrouk Sahban, has been appointed commander of the Central Military Region. This comes only weeks after Hefter’s forces took over the area after the withdrawal of the Benghazi Defense Brigades. The UN proposed government have just recently promoted Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Haddad to the rank of Major General, then assigned him to command the Central Military Region.

A number of citizens were injured in the Naima district of Zliten on Monday evening after a platform at the equestrian club that was above them collapsed. Three of the injured were transferred to the intensive care unit at the Zliten Hospital. Sources attributed the collapse to the presence of the crowed in the space which is allocated for horses due to the lack of places to sit. The festival was organized by the Equestrian Club on the second day of Eid.

The Managing Director of the Department of Hospitals in the Ministry of Health, Sumaya Botwirat, said that the ministry is preparing to launch the twinning program between the General Hospital of Ghat and several hospitals through a new initiative named the Visiting Doctor. According to Botwirat, the Ministry of Health is aspiring to provide nine extra doctors to the hospital Ghat as a result of the initiative. Botwirat clarified that the initiative came as the result of a serious decline in practicing doctors at the hospital.

The German humanitarian organization Sea Watch has stated that they saved the lives of seventeen children, 311 men and twenty six women off the coast of Libya, adding that they have never rescued such a high number before. More than thirty boats had left Libya to sail towards Europe after the month of Ramadan. The Spanish National Guard also released a statement to say that one of their ships saved 133 people who were on board a boat approximately 23 nautical miles from the coast of Libya. The Italian Coast Guard also stated that more than 8,000 immigrants were rescued during the past 48 hours in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Libya.

The head of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanallah, has confirmed that seventeen truckloads of fuel have been attacked and hijacked by armed gangs last week in the area of Burak Shati. Sanallah noted that he is in contact with the Mayors of the Municipalities and a number of members of the House of Representatives from the south to try overcome the difficulties, revealing plans by the NOC for future sustainable development programs in the areas surrounding oil production.
