The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said it had recently received information from Libyan authorities saying that an Indian national named Tabrez Tambe, who fled the country in January 2016 to allegedly join IS terrorists, is in a Libyan jail as a prisoner of war.

The Chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, received Tuesday the Arab League envoy to Libya, Salah Al-Din Al-Jamali.
Al-Jamali affirmed the Arab League's support for the course of reconciliation, according to the initiative of the UN envoy, expressing its readiness to provide all the assistance and cooperation required in this context, according to the Information Office of the Presidential Council.
He also offered the Arab league's contribution to the requirements of the electoral process, noting that their role is complementary to the role of the United Nations and not a rival one.
On the other hand, the envoy of the Secretary-General of the Arab League invited Sarraj to attend the upcoming Arab Summit scheduled for next March in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

A military training course for 28 personnel of Libyan Special Naval Forces was concluded Sunday at the headquarters of the Italian Special Forces in the city of Brindisi.
The spokesperson of Libyan Navy, Brigadier General Ayoub Qasim, said that the 40-day course included intensive field exercises that focused on the physical preparation, as well as other specific military skills.
He stressed that the course was 100% successful, praising the trained group who lived up to the expectations of being a special force in terms of stamina and in working as a team.
The training course is the second in a 3-part training course for the Libyan Special Forces that was agreed upon between the Libyan Navy and the Italian side in 2013.

Minister of Local Government, Badad Qansu, met on Tuesday with a number of Mayors of the southern region.
The meeting, which was attended by a number of ministry directors, discussed the latest developments and events in the southern region as well as finding urgent solutions for the insecurity situation and illegal immigration.
The participants also addressed the problems faced by citizens in the south and the lack of public services in the municipalities of the south.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Siddik Al-Kabir, met Monday with the Director-General and Chairman of the Arab Monetary Fund, Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Humaidiin, in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.
The meeting discussed cooperation and coordination between the Arab Monetary Fund and the Central Bank of Libya.
Al-Kabir emphasized during the meeting that the Central Bank of Libya will continue with implementing policies to support the Libyan economy, affirming that the bank will exercise its functions with complete neutrality as an independent institution that seeks to maintain the capabilities of Libyans away from any political strife.

The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) has announced that the third of February will be the last day of voter registration.
On its website, the HNEC explained that those registered for both previous elections, including the Constituent Assembly and the House of Representatives, are included in the voter register, and they are entitled to change their polling stations.
The HNEC confirmed that the total number of the registered voters until January 30 has reached 2,242,510 voters.

Tripoli Revolutionaries’ Brigade (TRB) released the head of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA), Nasr Ali Hassan, after hours of detention on Tuesday.
Sources confirmed that a group of TRB stormed the headquarters of the ACA and took Nasr to one of their locations under the pretext of interrogating him about “corruption cases.”
Nasr later returned to his office after being released and assured his working staff that “all things were fine and what happened was merely a common occurrence”, stressing his determination to continue combating administrative corruption, according to the sources.
No statement was made by the TRB about the incident.
