The Chairman of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), Mohammed Bin Shtwan, has stated that he hopes to end the crisis of power outages at the company`s fields, noting that this problem is keeping production levels below what they are supposed to be. Bin Shtwan said in a press statement that many of oil wells were shut down as a result of poor infrastructure and the lack of a reliable power source for the oil fields including Sareer. He added that Sareer oil field needs electricity transformer stations because its area is more than 500 square kilometers, which means that they need to ensure the continuity of the energy supply. A source in the AGOCO told foreign news agencies that the company's production dropped by more than 50% compared to production levels in October last year.

The Administrative Control Authority issued a decision on Tuesday to reinstate the Financial Controller at the Libyan Embassy in Tunis and revoked a previous decision to suspend him from working with five other officials. The decision stated in its first article that, Omar Ammar, who is the Financial Controller, will be reinstated at the Libyan Embassy in Tunisia, calling on the competent authorities to implement the decision as of the date of its issuance. Last November, the Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority issued a decision to suspend six employees from the Libyan Embassy in Tunisia for the public`s best interest.

NOG, Together Libya, buried on Tuesday seven unidentified bodies of illegal immigrants in a cemetery in the city of Bani Walid. The bodies were stored in the morgue refrigerators at the General Hospital of Bani Walid for a long period of time. The Information Office of the NGO stated that the decision to bury the bodies came after they had accumulated in the morgue, and only after all legal procedures were carried out by the Court of Bani Walid District. It also pointed out that members of "Together Libya" conducted several rounds of inspection of migrants and to check on their conditions and requirements in Bani Walid to facilitate their procedures and safe return voluntarily to their countries.

The Deputy Minister of Health, Issa Omayani, has announced that Libya is close to providing treatment for cancer and tumors cases within its borders, with the opening of radiation treatment departments and supply of chemotherapy treatment for patients. Omayani confirmed, in a statement issued by the media office of the Ministry, that bank credits would be opened to the National Institute of Oncology Therapy in Sabratha, in order to install radiotherapy devices within months. He also revealed the Ministry's strategies for 2018, pointing to a 95% completion rate for the work of the committee charged with preparing the 2018 public tender for the provision of medicines and medical supplies.

The Mayor of Sabha, Hamid Al-Khayali, has denied the news circulated on some media pages regarding a suicide bombing in the city of Sabha on Monday night. Al-Khayali clarififed that preliminary investigations carried out by the police in the city showed that an African migrant, believed to be Chadian, was drunk and pulled out a hand grenade in his possession by mistake that led to its explosion and his death, adding that there was no material or human damage.

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) said on Tuesday that production and export operations in oilfields and ports are stable and operating at their normal rates. Jadallah Al-Awkli, a member of the NOC Board of Directors, confirmed that the production and export operations were not affected by the bombing of Zagout pipeline. He pointed out that the technicians repaired the pipeline and re-operated the line in a record. It is worth noting that on the 26th of December, unknown vandals planted an explosive device on Zagout pipeline of Al-Waha Company that feeds the port of Sidra.

Member of the House of Representatives (HoR), Mohammed Al-Abani, has criticized the dominance of personal and regional interests on the decisions and meetings of the HoR, and links of some of its members to the policies of foreign countries. Al-Abani said in a statement posted on his official Facebook page that the administrative and financial corruption in the HoR has caused members to feel that the HoR has become a tool in the hands of its speaker, Aqila Saleh, and other beneficiaries of this corruption. He said that he sees the elections as an exit to the crises experienced by the country in light of the failures by the House of Representatives, adding that the election of Mohammed Shukri, as the new governor of the Central Bank of Libya has increasingly complicated the situation, especially after the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame, stated that this decision was supposed to be subject to the provisions of Article 15 of the Libyan Political Agreement.

Derna Local Council has opened the outpatient department at Al-Wahda Hospital after completing maintenance work. Council Chairman, Awad Al-Airaj, said that the Council completed the maintenance work by relying on local workers after the building was damaged by an unknown aerial bombardment of the city. Al-Airaj also stated that the doctors and specialists that run the hospital are all from Derna, adding that the maintenance work in Al-Wahda Hospital was stalled for years because of the shortage of materials due to the siege of the city. He explained that the Council seeks to lift the siege imposed on the city, wishing that 2018 be a good start to the city and the country in general.

The commander of the Presidential Guard in Tripoli, Najmi Al-Nakoa, unveiled that they had discussed lifting the ban on weapons exports to Libya with Russia, adding that they are working on uniting the Libyan military institution so that it becomes independent of the political conflicts in the country, according to his statement to the Italian news agency Aki. He also added that the meetings held in Egypt between the conflict parties’ military officials resulted in several points that aim to reconstruct the army based on modern standards and under a civilian authority.
