The Media Office of the UN-proposed government’s Interior Ministry denied the statement that was circulated on social media and attributed to pages pertaining to the ministry saying crime rates have soared in Tripoli adding that it is untrue and the office is the only official body to cover such issues and all other issues related to the ministry.

Libyan Literature and Arts Commission organized an open mic under the slogan “Young Poetic Voices” on Tuesday at the Faqih Hassan Arts Gallery under the supervision of the Tripoli Ancient Sites Department. Several poets from Al-Khums, Tripoli and Derna participated in the event.

Uneasy calm has descended on Janzour since last Sunday after the fight between Furssan Janzour Brigade and Wershiffana armed groups ceased, the municipal member Abdelasalam Gharsa added. He said mediation could succeed and bring the issue to an end.

Tobruk’s HoR has denounced the signing of a MoU between Italy and the UN-proposed government’s Presidential Council to fight illegal immigration, smuggling and other issues of mutual interest. It said the MoU is invalid and cannot be legally or morally binding for Libya neither in the present nor in the future.

Administrative Control Authority said, responding to state institutions that cast doubt on its latest decision to dismiss a number of officials, all of its decisions that are posted on its website and social media are legal procedures. It added that they shall be implemented by the relevant authorities, which should respect the law and look away from their media outlets that they use to topple over the decisions.

Libyan Airlines denied the news that said the EU had lifted the embargo on its flights to EU countries. An official at the airliner said they will meet with EU officials next July to discuss the issue.

The dismissed Chief of Security Department in Benghazi, Salah Al-Huwaidi, rejected again to hand over his post to Salah Al-Khafifi, who has been appointed in his place lately. He attributed his rejection to orders from the General Command of the “Army”, saying Khalifa Haftar told him personally not to hand over the position until new orders follow.
