EU delegates have underlined in a meeting with Libyan officials their determination to support Libya in health and education institutions, private sector development and local communities as they seek to put conflict behind them.

An Italian warship has arrived in Abu Sitta Naval Base in Tripoli with a number of experts from Italy aboard in a work visit that will last for five days, Italian Aki news agency reported the spokesman of the Libyan Navy Force, Ayoub Qassim as saying.

The Joint Security Force in Misrata stated on Tuesday that members of the force arrested a customs agent at the port of Misrata for involvement in the smuggling of an estimated quantity of 4 tons of cannabis. The force also stated that the agent who works at the port had admitted the crime after initial investigations and claimed that the smuggling of this consignment was on behalf of an armed group in the city.

Sources close to the Presidential Council have confirmed that the council refused the resignation of the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the General Authority for Youth and Sports, Ziad Grira. Grira had resigned yesterday in protest against certain behavior that he would not reveal or clarify, the only reference he would make was on his Facebook page when he wrote "Nations are not built this way".

The President of the Presidential Council of the UN proposed government, Fayez Sarraj, pledged to solve the problems faced in the services facilities sector in Tobruk, especially the ongoing water problems. Urgent requirements faced by Tobruk is the desalination plant, it's maintenance and the operational materials needed to work at full capacity, the sanitation network has also become a serious problem in the municipality. Sarraj also confirmed after his meeting with the acting Mayor of Tobruk, Ali Saghir, that debts accumulated by the municipality will be paid, and all unpaid salaries of approximately 17 thousand employees would be imbursed in full. There was also a pledge to begin efforts at the proposed project of the future establishment of a medical center in the city.

The Administrative Control Authority have issued the decision to suspend the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afriqiyah Airways, AbuBakr Fortia, his deputy Ammar Akkari, the former Financial Director of the company, Ramadan Agha, in addition to the Chairman of the Administration Council of Libyan Airlines Fathi Shatti. All those mentioned will be suspended from their positions for the reasons of public interest, according to the decisions made by the authority which are to be implemented immediately.

Medical sources from Benghazi have stated that 104 fighters loyal to Khalifa Hefter were killed during the month of July. The fighters were killed by snipers, as well as during armed clashes and landmine explosions in northern Benghazi areas that were controlled by the fighters of the Benghazi Shura Council Rebels. Shura Council fighters are now holding onto their last positions in the district of Sidi Ahrebish in the northern part of the City.

The International Football Federation (FIFA) has appointed a refereeing team from Djibouti to manage the match between Libya and their Guinean counterpart to be played on the September 28 stadium in Conakry on August 31 in the third African qualifying round of the 2018 Russia World Cup. The Libya team will be up against teams from Tunisia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Guinea who are in their group.

General Electric Company of Libya (GECOL) officials held discussions with the South Korean ambassador to Libya on arrangements for the return of Korean companies to complete remaining work on a number of stalled projects they had previously contracted. The company said on their Facebook page that an extensive meeting was held with the Korean ambassador and his delegation, the Director of the Asian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mayor of Janzur Municipality to discuss the possibility of the return of Korean contracting companies to implement the west Tripoli power station.

The Mayor of Sirte, Mukhtar Madani has stated that more than 24 decomposed bodies have been found in different places of the city of Sirte, along with the discovery of 14 bodies behind the headquarters of the Sirte military police at Zafran. The spokesman of the Municipal Council of Sirte, Mohammed Amel, confirmed that volunteer teams of the Libyan Red Crescent and volunteers from the city's residents in cooperation with the military room exhumed the bodies and now hoped that they will be placed with the competent authorities after their exhumation.

The Itihad handball team has managed to beat their rivals Alshurta with a score of 20-13 in the first round of the Handball League finals. With this result, Itihad will qualify to the semi-finals of the tournament, which is being held in the city of Gharyan. Itihad began the tournament with a 32:14 victory over Ahli Benghazi.
