House of Representatives members have been subjected to maltreatment during their visits to rogue General Khalifa Haftar’s den in the eastern town of Rajma, MP Ali Al-Tikbali reveals.

The University of Sabha, south Libya, has decided to postpone this year’s classes due to bad security and living conditions. In a statement, the university said students and academics and staff members are unable to drive to the university because of lack of fuel, in addition to the deteriorating security situations in the southern region. The statement added that classes would resume when these conditions are improved.

The Governor of Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Siddiq Al-Kabir, held talks Monday with the British Ambassador, Peter Millett, over Libya’s economic and financial crises. The Media Office of CBL said the two officials also discussed the exerted efforts to overcome these crises.

The Libyan Football Federation lodged a request to the sports court of the FIFA asking for a rematch with the Tunisian team as part of the second round of the World Cup qualifiers, as the Kenyan referee was proved to be married to a Tunisian woman and is living in there. The match ended 1-0 for Tunisia and saw many mistakes by the Kenyan referee, who was actually suspended for three months after Libya accused him of wrong decisions.

The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) discussed in a Tripoli meeting in the presence of the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj, the requirements of funding new power projects in all around the country, GECOL said on Facebook.

The Head of the Audit Bureau, Khalid Shakshak, met Monday with deputy minister of economy, National Oil Corporation officials, Brega company, National ID Number officials, and others in order to place a mechanism for distributing fuel to gas stations and provide selling points in all of them using electronic cards. He said a meeting should also take place with mayors and economy control officials to set a date for the start of the new method.

Al-Ittihad soccer team in Tripoli presented in a presser on Sunday at Corinthia Hotel the new French coach Diego Garzitto, as well as the new players. The French coach said he was glad to start with the Libyan team and will start training immediately, adding that he needs lots of time and work to get results that will be noticed by all.

A cemetery going back to the fourth or fifth century was discovered by a farmer in Zuwara when a farmer unearthed skeletons when he was doing some digging in his farm. He saw that the skeletons were placed in an organized manner with special substances. Zuwara concerned authorities formed a committee to follow up on the case, saying it will send specimen overseas for more details on how old they are and the epoch they belong to.

The first scientific conference about violence against children kicked off Monday. The event was organized by Tomohi organization under the slogan “Toward childhood without violence.” Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, the US took part in addition to Libya. The event launched the date September 11 as the National Day of Children, to be celebrated every year after.

The head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj ordered the sending of 43 officers from the coastal security guard to Italy and Tunisia for a training course for two months. The course tackles navigation science, engineering and service as part of the agreement between Libya and Italy for fighting illegal immigration. The course is paid by Italy.
