The administration of the Man-Made River has announced emergency maintenance works at the main control valves at the Shuwairif station.

The House of Representatives cancelled Tuesday article 8 of the additional provisions of the Libyan political agreement (LPA), parliament spokesperson, Abdullah Bliheeq, declares.

A press source from Hun town said journalists from February newspaper that is based in Tripoli were arrested while covering Autumn Festival in the town by a group dressed in military police uniforms, who are related to Haftar’s forces. The source added that they used also swear words to insult the journalists. No clear charges against the journalists have been announced.

Tripoli and nearby areas’ education advisors met with deputy education minister and discussed readiness for the new school year that will kick off next Sunday. They discussed needed measures to have a successful start of the school year and a shared method among all of the officials to control and deal with the teachers’ demands, which they said are legitimate. They also discussed the schools’ needs as to stationary and books that they said should be distributed on time with the kickoff of the year.

The UNSMIL said that at least 4,000 migrants, previously held in numerous informal detention centers and camps in Sabratha, have been transferred to a hangar in the city’s Dahman area, where IOM, the UN Migration Agency is providing emergency assistance. IOM sent a field team to the hangar to assess the situation. By the end of the day, the team reported that 2,600 migrants (1,819 men, 704 women and 77 children) were being kept at the site by the Libyan Directorate for Combatting Illegal Migration (DCIM). More migrants from other locations in Sabratah were later transferred to the hangar and more are anticipated to arrive soon, the UNSMIL added.

The leader of Dignity Operation Khalifa Haftar has ordered the shutdown of all media offices of his forces’ military units as well as the shutdown of all social media pages of those units, except for the so-called general command’s media bureau and its military media section.

The spokesman of the House of Representatives (HoR) Abdullah Bliheeq said the HoR members approved the new shape of the Presidential Council as to become of two deputies and one head and a separate Prime Minister’s post. He also said that the HoR will have another session on Tuesday.

Libya’s oil vessel Anwar Libya arrived in Benghazi port coming from Tripoli port for the first time since 2014 as it was shut over the war in Benghazi between Haftar’s forces and Benghazi Shura Council. The vessel was laden with 13.000 tons of fuel to help alleviate the shortage in east Libya due to the strike of tank trucks’ drivers.

Sabratha Civil Societies Union warned Monday in a statement of human rights violations in the city and the attacks on people’s houses if the city remains under such circumstances. It also called on the concerned authorities to take the needed measures to end the violations and urged the people to return to their houses and lead a normal life.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Monday that the NATO should not let Russia strengthen its presence in divided Libya as Moscow’s involvement in the peace settlement process in Syria has only created an "even more difficult situation,” according to Sputnik. He also said that they are following closely the situation in Libya more generally and have seen the effects of Russian presence in Syria, how that has created an even more difficult situation in Syria. Of course, so they have to avoid anything similar happening in Libya, adding that the NATO calls on all actors, including Russia, to support the UN-led efforts and UN-recognized government in Libya.

Libya International Exhibition for Fish and Seafood opened its doors Tuesday at the Tripoli Shaab port and will last for three days under the supervision of exports development center. The exhibition aims at boosting the sector to reach a decent level of exportation capacity in Libya.
