Libyan Center for Freedom of Press (LCFP) condemned the arrest of Panorama TV cameraman, Weam Ben Zabiya, in Al-Bayda by the eastern security forces. It added that such an arrest is agasint the rights of journalists and the forces who arrested him must set him free, as he is not charged with anything but being part of a media outlet that has different political agenda that theirs.

Hatif Libya warned of a possible telecommunication outage in Libya amid the current ongoing power outages that last for long hours and thus making it hard for the generators to work constantly given that there is a shortage of fuel. It added that work is underway to provide fuel for the generators so that the situation gets contained.

Derna is going to host a photography gallery starting Wednesday. The gallery will last for three days. Many prominent photographers from Derna and the region will take part in the gallery. Derna has been stepping up the cultural activities since it has been liberated from IS militants by its revolutionaries, who are besieged now by Haftar’s forces on charges of terrorism.

Criminal Evidence Team of Al-Marij city sent 4020 Libyan citizenship files from the Green Mountain city’s Civil Registry to legal investigation. One member of the team said the investigation was urged by a tipoff that says the files are forged, adding foreigners will be given Libyan citizenship in an illegal way at the Al-Bayda city’s Civil Registry.

A humanitarian assistance convoy from Gharyan city arrived in Tarhouna city Tuesday to be distributed to Tawergha IDPs. According to the head of civil societies authority in Gharyan, Akram Taleb, the convoy included blankets, winter clothes, heaters, and babies’ diapers.

The spokesman of the Tripoli-based Education Ministry, Ramadan Al-Ghadwi, confirmed the study is ongoing and said the rumors about suspension of study are untrue. He said that if some schools’ principals decided to suspend study temporarily for days might be – if ever true -  to alleviate the suffering of the students amid the outages of power and water and other basic services, “but the ministry did not urge for the suspension,” he added.

The Head of Communication Commission of Gharyan municipality, Mukhtar Younis, warned of the possible collapse of Jandubiya Prison on the heads of the inmates momentarily as it is very old shaky. Younis added that very corner of the prison is near collapsing and the toilets are not good for human use, adding that there are 300 inmates, men, women and underage prisoners.

Tripoli Municipal Guard closed a number of gas cylinders stores that are approved by Brega Oil and Gas Marketing Company because they are reluctant to sell the gas cylinders for people but rather they sell them to businessmen, who are taking advantage of the shortage and selling them with high prices for people.

Libyan former national soccer team’s goalkeeper, Ibrahim Al-Masri, died this week after long-suffering from disease. Al-Masri is considered one of the best goalkeeper in Libya’s soccer history.

Libyan Red Crescent – Misrata Branch – said it is still recovering bodies from the seaside Jiza neighborhood in Sirte and numbering them then giving them to the security room. The Red Crescent has been on 31 visits from Misrata to Sirte so far, saying the teams have recovered 740 bodies for IS militants from under the rubble.
