The Hungarian Ambassador to Libya, Béla Marton, has declared that his country is ready to receive and treat Libyan patients in Hungary and to organize visits by a number of Hungarian doctors to provide treatment services within Libya including the public and private sectors. In his meeting with Ambassador Marton in Tripoli, the Minister for Health, Omar Tahir, welcomed Hungarian cooperation and stated that there are other files that could be worked on like emergency visas for medical patients and efforts to bring Hungarian doctors to work in Libya. Marton invited Tahir to visit his country and to be more precise about what his state can offer in regards to cooperation between the two countries on health issues.

The Municipal Council of Zliten signed an agreement with a local construction company in charge of building the city new Chest Diseases Hospital. As per the agreement, Zliten Municipality will grant the company a loan of LYD 400.000 dinars to complete the project and that the company will return the value once it receives the financial allocations for the project from the relevant government institutions. The company signed in 2014 with the government-owned Development of Administrative Centers Board to build Chest Diseases Hospital in Zliten.

The Forum of Local Mediators started in Tripoli on Monday under the auspices of the UN Support Mission in Libya. During the two-day forum, some sixty participants, who have previously been involved in resolving disputes, will discuss local dialogues and conflict resolution efforts, as well as opportunities to establish peacemaking networks to promote reconciliation at local and national levels.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Libya said that more than 44,000 people benefited from the hygiene kit program in Libya last year. The UNICEF stated that the hygiene kit provides the basic elements of life for children and their families affected by crises. According to a post on UNICEF`s official Facebook page published on Monday, UNICEF noted that 54%of internally displaced persons in Libya are children, stressing that it works to ensure the basic needs of all children and that the children have access to basic services such as education, health and clean water.

The Judicial Police confirmed on Monday that the main Mitiga Airport prison, which is run by by the Special Deterrence Force, is under control in cooperation with the SDF. The Judicial Police assured the families of inmates in a statement that they are safe and did not suffer any harm during the clashes. It added that the Joint Security Forces pushed back the attack, pointing out that the attackers are aiming to destabilize the security in the capital Tripoli and its suburbs.

The Security Council will hold a session on Libya next Wednesday, during which it will hear the report of the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Ghassan Salame, on the latest political and security developments and the report of the Ambassador of Sweden, who is the head of the UN Sanctions Committee as set by the resolution number 1970. A diplomatic source at the Foreign Ministry said that the Libyan side will work to amend the decision to freeze Libyan assets so as not to mean depriving Libya from administrating its assets. The freezing of these assets costs Libya a loss of about one billion dollars a year, the source added, pointing out that the last country opposed to Libyan efforts is Russia. The source indicated that efforts to soften the Russian stance have begun, which indicates the possibility of reaching a modification of the resolution, so as to avoid Libya such an annual financial loss.

The head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salame, met on Monday with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki, in Addis Ababa. The two sides discussed the political process in Libya and agreed to strengthen cooperation between the United Nations and the African Union to support Libyans in finding a way out of the current crisis. Other issues discussed were how to end the transitional period and proceed to achieving unified, stable and effective institutions. During his visit to Addis Ababa, Salame met a number of African Union officials to discuss the Libyan crisis and ways to enhance cooperation between the two international organizations to ensure peace and stability in the country.

International Organization of Migration (IOM) staffer Rania Kharma – a Palestinian-Spanish national – was freed in Sabha, southern Libya, on Tuesday, three days after abduction by unknown gunmen. Sabha security personnel said they spotted her location through a phone call in the area she was in, then they contacted the elders to allow them to enter the area to free her. Sabha security directorate found on Saturday the Libyan IOM staffer Fayez Khirallah near Sabha city and then found the driver who was with the two IOM staffers on Sunday.

The Dean of Islamic Theology Department at the Mohammed Bin Ali Al-Senussi University in Al-Bayda, Al-Amin Bufares, was released after five months of abduction, a source from the university reported. The source added that Bufares arrived in his house and he was in good health conditions, not saying where he was held over the last period. Bufaers was abducted in August 2017 and fingers were pointed at Salafist Madkhalists, who were following Sufis around in eastern Libya at that period of time, disallowing many of them from preaching in mosques.

Websites loyal to Dignity Operation of Khalifa Haftar confirmed that six fighters were killed and a seventh was missing in Jaghbub oasis in southeastern Libya. According to sources in east Libya, patrols from 106 brigade, which is led by Haftar's son Khalid, and 501 brigade were ambushed in southern Jaghbub while searching for one of their fighters who was kidnapped by Sudanese Justice and Equality rebels - Haftar's allies. Clashes between the two sides killed at least six fighters and injured others, saying the bodies and injuries arrived in Jaghbub municipality.
