The spokesman for the Misrata Security Directorate, Mohammed bin Alamin, confirmed that they are to set up an investigative team to follow up the assassination of Misrata Mayor, Mohammed Shtewi. Alamin called on the Municipal Council and city dignitaries on Monday evening in a joint press conference, to cooperate and stand with them in the fight against illegal activities, adding that investigations into the assassination are ongoing. Misrata Municipal Council confirmed that they will continue to strive to achieve peace and will not back down from serving the city, while their spokesman, Osama Badi announced that important information was obtained regarding the assassination of Mohamed Shtewi that should lead security services to the perpetrators of the crime.

The National Oil Corporation (NOC), returned the flow of gas exports from Libya to Italy on Monday after they were suspended due to technical problems. The NOC stated that exports were halted following a disruption in the gas supply from a line running from the Sabratha marine platform to the Melitah complex. Gas flows resumed to normal levels after a four-hour halt. The National Oil Corporation stopped the flow of gas through the Green Stream line to Italy and redirected all quantities of gas produced to Libyan power plants to maintain the stability of the public electricity network after a sudden lack of gas supply effected the Libyan electricity network`s output.

The Second International Exhibition of Traditional Industries opened on Monday morning at the Tripoli International Fair. The exhibition is organized by the Export Development Center and was under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Industry and in cooperation with the General Authority for Exhibitions. The four-day event is being held in the framework of the promotion of local human resources, the development of traditional industries and the promotion of traditional local industries. The four-day course is being participated in by several countries including Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Sudan and Niger as well as many local participants from various Libyan regions. The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) has condemned the assassination of the Mayor of Misrata, Mohammed Eshtiwi. The NCHRL said in a statement that the assassination of Eshtiwi constitutes a dangerous sign of a possible return of a wave of political assassinations in order to settle political differences. “These acts can quickly become amplified in a state that lacks strong security, and breeds in the environment of instability and chaos caused as a result of the proliferation of weapons and the strong control held by armed groups.” The statement read. The NCHRL requested the Attorney General's Office and the Ministry of Interior to open a thorough and urgent investigation into the assassination to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The Security Directorate of Tripoli (SDT) has approved the request by sports clubs to allow fans to attend the matches of their football teams, starting from the second-leg matches of the Libyan Premier League. Sources said that the SDT stipulated that the number of fans for each team should not surpass one thousand. This approval enjoys significant support from the clubs, who see it as the beginning of a larger move to allow more fans attend in the future.

Algerian diplomatic sources have said that the Chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayez Sarraj, requested Algerian officials to exert greater pressure on Egypt to withdraw its direct support to the leader of Dignity Operation, Khalifa Haftar, according to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed online newspaper. Sources also quoted Sarraj as saying "There are regional countries including Egypt, who are disrupting the path to a political settlement and the implementation of an electoral plan for Libya". Sarraj pointed out to Algerian officials that there are people who take terrorism as a pretext to disrupt the dialogue, stressing the importance of Algeria's support for the action plan of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
