Wehda Hospital in the besieged city of Derna in eastern Libya has received a copy of the order of the Omar Al-Mukhtar Operations Room of Dignity Operation that allows supply of medicines and medical equipment to the hospital, the Head Director Mansour Ben Fayed said in a statement.

The Head of the Presidential Council (PC) of the UN-proposed government Fayez Al-Sirraj appointed the Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala as the acting Financial Minister without giving further details why the minister, Osama Hamad, had been dismissed.

Seven people have been brutally tortured before being murdered in Benghazi, local sources reported. Their bodies were found handcuffed with signs of torture in a landfill in Zeet Street in Shabna district. They were all murdered with gunshots to the head.

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) said all oil pipelines from Al-Zawiya to Tripoli including Sharara oilfield were reopened and are operating well after hours of closure. The pipeline 16 is operational after a group of protesters shut it down, the NOC said, adding that it contacted Brega Oil Company to provide fuel to Tripoli via sea.

Head of High Council of State, Abdelrahman Al-Sweihli, met with the Presidential Council’s Chief of Staff Mohammed Al-Jatal and discussed the military institution developments, rebuilding it and activating its role as well as uniting it under civilian authority as per the political agreement and constitutional declaration. Al-Jatal said security operations are all over the country to help stabilize Libya.

A delegation from the German company, Siemens, arrived in Tripoli on Monday and will visit Ubari on Tuesday to operate the first turbine in the Ubari steam power plant, according to sources reporting the Local Governing Minister Baddad Gansu. The turbine will add 160 megawatts to the network and after ten later days the rest of turbines will operate to reach 640 megawatts in total to end south Libya’s power crisis.

Libyan coastguards rescued Monday 155 people, including 18 women and 10 children, near the capital city of Tripoli. The migrants came from several countries, including Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Sudan as well as sub-Saharan Africa and Syria. IOM said on its website that since Friday, 969 people have been rescued.

Libya locals team lost against Morocco 5-1 in a friendly match on Monday in Tunisia. This was the last rehearsal for Libya before playing Algeria on August 12 in Algeria as part of CHAN qualifications.
