The Head of the Audit Bureau Khalid Shakshak has suspended the Libyan ambassador to Italy Ahmed Al-Mabrouk Safar, as well as several other diplomats at Libya's embassy in Rome, Vatican, and Libya's Consulate in Milan.

At least four people were killed and two others seriously wounded after fierce clashes using light and medium weapons broke out in Al-Majuri neighborhood of Benghazi on Wednesday night.

The Detention Center of Migrants in Zuwarah has evacuated 889 illegal immigrants from Sabratha due to the ongoing armed clashes. The migrants, including 132 women and 63 children, were evacuated to the Gharyan Detention Center for repatriation by the voluntary return program sponsored by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Mayor of Misrata, Mohammed Ashtawi and the head of the Misrata Security Directorate, Colonel Tareq al-Faqih held a joint press conference regarding the bombing of the Misrata Courts Complex by ISIS on Wednesday. Ashtawi stated that strict measures were agreed on regarding new concerns of the city`s security and gave examples like cars with tinted windows, no registration plates and men carrying weapons becoming more apparent. He also said that renew measures will be adopted to regulate files of IDPs and foreign laborers in the city.

The Military Operations Room in Sirte and the city's Security Directorate have imposed a curfew on all vehicles as of Wednesday from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am. The head of security in Sirte, Colonel Siddiq Bin Saud, stated that citizens of Sirte and its environs must abide by security orders until further notice urging owners of vehicles not to contravene the curfew.

The Minister of Education, Othman Abdul-Jalil, held a meeting with the special representative of UNICEF to Libya and urged him to improve mechanisms used to implement the organization's work programs in Libya in the fields of education and training for 2018. According to the official page of the ministry on Facebook, the two sides also discussed the issues of how the UNICEF could help with refurbishing classrooms damaged by war in both the cities of Benghazi and Sirte. The representative of UNICEF in Libya stated that the organization in the coming days will begin work on the installation of approximately thirty mobile classrooms in a number of schools in Benghazi, adding that the organization is expected to start its installation work in the city of Sirte by the beginning of November through commissioning a local company to carry out the work.

The Information Center of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos Operation has stated that one of their bomb disposal teams succeeded in dismantling 154 kilograms of explosives from the car used by the terrorists in yesterday’s attack on Misrata courthouse.  The car was parked in front of the courthouse and the bomb intended to be used by the three ISIS suicide bombers to cause as many fatalities as possible.

Students of the Faculty of Media at Benghazi University organized a silent demonstration at the new campus in Garyounis Wednesday morning, during which they denounced verbal and physical attacks by the university guards on students. The students demanded that the perpetrators of these attacks, which have become increasingly common, be held accountable. This comes after a student was severely beaten by two security guards belonging to the University Guards Unit a few days ago without any accountability or punitive actions.

Al-Ittihad handball team entered a closed training camp in Tunis to prepare for the African Championship. Al-Ittihad team will take part in the championship, which begins on October 17th, as the champion of the latest edition of the Libyan Handball Championship 2016-2017, which was held in Gharyan City.

A project was launched by the Ministry of Planning with the support of the European Union to promote entrepreneurship, private sector development and economic diversification in Libya. The event was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Presidential Council, Ahmed Maiteiq, the Minister for Planning, Tahir Jahimi, the European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, the French Ambassador to Libya, Brigitte Curmi, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Siddiq Al-Kabir, and a number of government ministers. The European side expressed their readiness to provide technical support and all that is needed by the European Union to support the Libyan side. It was agreed during the meeting that communication on this matter and follow-up would be vital to the success of these projects as this is of great importance to the Libyan economy.
