Libya’s oil production has reached 700.000 bpd, member of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation Jadallah Al-Okali has declared, adding the NOC is working to increase the production to 800.000 bpd by the end of April. Al-Okali also indicated that the NOC aims to push the production to 1.1 million bpd in August 2017.

Chairman of National Oil Corporation Mustafa Sanallah has signed a sustainable development agreement with the General Manager of Eni North Africa B. V. Libya Nasir Baraka. The $15 million agreement will cover operation of Jalu Hospital (northeastern Libya), construction of a natural gas pipeline to desalination plant in Zuwara city and several other projects in the contract areas. ENI’s current oil production from onshore and offshore fields in Libya is 41,000 barrels in addition to 43,000 barrels of condensate.

The health ministry of the interim government in east Libya has issued an urgent call to save lives of hundreds of sick children with heart diseases and tumors. The ministry warned on Wednesday that the sick children face imminent risk of death due to lack of equipment and medicines and its inability to obtain foreign currency liquidity for the concerned authorities to treat them abroad.

President of the High Council of State (HCS) Abdul-Rahman Al-Swaihli and Head of UN Mission in Libya Martin Kobler held joint talks in Tripoli on Wednesday. The HCS said the talks focused on the situations in Benghazi and human rights violations there. Kobler denied this and tweeted: “Setting record straight: Benghazi & ICC not discussed w/ HSC Pres Sweilhi.”

A Sudanese boy was wounded with a random bullet in his shoulder in Benghazi on Wednesday, Benghazi Medical Center reported, adding his condition is stable now.

The military governor of east Libya Abdelraziq Al-Nathori has appointed colonel Omer Al-Faqih as new mayor for Marada, a town 200km southeast of Sirte.

Janzour and Central Tripoli municipalities discussed with the General Water Resources Authority the possibly to establishment of two seawater desalination plants to cover Greater Tripoli region. Currently, the Man-Made River system supplies water to Tripoli through a network of pipes from the Sahara desert.

Libyan Airlines has suspended flights to/from Taminhint Airport in Sabha, south Libya, after one week of resumption due to tension around the airport.

Head of UN-proposed Presidency Council held talks in Tripoli with the Director General of the International Organization for Migration William Lacy Swing. Both sides discussed the dilemma of illegal immigration and ways of helping the Libyan side to stop the influx of immigrants to EU shores.
