A massive fire raged in Camp 27 in Wirshiffana region, western Libya on Thursday. Hot winds and high temperature have intensified the fire, driving it toward the nearby forest and houses.

Head of UN-installed Presidency Council Fayaz Sirraj arrived in The Hague on Wednesday for an official visit to the Netherlands. He is expected to hold talks with Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Foreign Minister Bert Koenders on the bilateral relations and Libya’s status quo.

Tripoli-based Interior Ministry has set up a probe into the on UNSMIL convoy in Sorman on Wednesday. Security sources said that attack was criminal and has no political aims.

The UNSMIL staffers arrived safely by air in Tripoli earlier on Thursday after being ambushed in Sroman by an armed group.

Three powerful brigades from Zawiya condemned on Wednesday the on UNSMIL convoy in Sorman.  

In a joint statement, Farouq Brigade, Mohammed Kilani Brigade and Hamdi Rajab Brigade refuted claims of Dignity Operation media outlets that the three brigades were behind the attack to pile pressure for the release of two Libyan nationals in Saudi Arabia.

The three brigades added that the attack was in violation of Islamic teachings, expressing thanks for the Presidential Council for its efforts to release the two Libyan detainees.

Sabratha Military Council has condemned the on UNSMIL convoy in Sorman, saying in a statement on Wednesday that the aim of the attack was to undermine the political process in the country.

A Libyan national from the western town of Ajaylat has been brutally killed by a group of African migrants, local sources say. The sources indicated that Abu Bakr Haswa was stabbed to death by the African migrants who ambushed him to steal his car.

The African gangsters threw his body on the roadside in Al-Matmir district before being arrested by security forces.
