The Military Region of Tripoli and the Training Department of the Libyan intelligence Service, took control of five military camps in the Hadba, Salahuddin and Khallet al-Furjan areas on Wednesday. The camps received by the Presidency of the Tripoli Military Region came from the Tripoli revolutionaries Brigade along with some other security Brigades. The military camps are the Headquarters of the Military College in Hadba, the Yarmouk Air Defense Camp, the Air Defense Operations Room and the Training Camp of the Libyan Intelligence Service.

The Director of the Budget Balancing Fund Jamal Shebani said that goods contracted for the benefit of consumer associations and sales centers at cost prices had begun to arrive at warehouses of the port of Tripoli. Shebani called on citizens to commit to registration in the system as soon as possible on the electronic associations system. Shebani noted that the Fund will cease to take new registrations on the eighth of June as distribution will start on the first batch of goods that reached its stores.

The Municipality of Sirte launched a large cleaning campaign under the slogan "Cooperate for your city" under the auspices of the Municipal Council Sirte and in cooperation with the General Company for General Cleaning Services. Large numbers of young volunteers attended the campaign prompting the spokesperson for the municipality, Mohamed Alameel to state that the campaign will continue for a couple of days, and that the Council provided all necessary equipment and facilities. The Municipality for Sirte also facilitated the garbage transport and the writing of banners and slogans to bring about awareness to the citizens and young people in regards to the launch the campaign.

A number of MPs from the House of Representatives expressed their surprise at the blatant disregard of their demands that the Chief of Staff Abdul Raziq Nadoori answer questions for remarks he made. The MPs directed their demands at the Parliament Speaker Aqila Saleh and felt Nadoori should be held accountable after his statements, threatening to “Carry out illegal acts” against some of the MPs. In a statement issued by the MPs yesterday, they stressed that it is imperative not to keep silent when threatened in such a way, adding that they will not allow any bypass of institutional work. “We will work by all legal means to hold accountable any violations either sooner or later,” they concluded.

A delegation from the Turkish company Atlas Aviation Company, visited the international airport of Matiga to discuss the possibility of operating daily flights from Istanbul to Tripoli. Atlas is expected to begin daily flights between the Libyan and Turkish capitals in July this year.

According to the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Libya's crude oil production has exceeded the 800,000 bpd again after repairs were completed on a technical problem at the Sharara oil field. The daily-recorded production reached 827,000 bpd after electricity currents stabilized, earlier electricity interruptions at the Masala and Sreer oil fields caused a drop in production to below 800 thousand barrels per day.

A source from the Zuwara Coast Guard said armed clashes broke out between their men and a group of fuel smugglers. The clashes began when those on the fuel tanker became unresponsive to orders then fired upon the patrol. The source stated that clashes broke out between a boat belonging to the Libyan navy and a smuggling boat off the shores of the city of Zuwara, western Libya, adding that clashes resulted in serious damage to the hull of the smuggling tanker.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Libya said that since the beginning of 2017, it has assisted some 4,030 stranded migrants in Libya to return home. The Organization added that the last flight to take off deporting illegal immigrants was last Thursday, that flight included 145 men, 20 women, three unaccompanied children and two women who were medical cases stranded in Libya seeking to return home to Nigeria.

Sources from the Presidential Council of the UN proposed government stated that Fayez Sarraj received a strong statement signed by at least one hundred personalities ranging from former ministers to parliamentarians, academics and civil society figures regarding the violation of Libyan sovereignty by the Egyptian regime. The statement made on Wednesday, included the Presidential Council's requirement to file a complaint with the UN Security Council against the Egyptian bombing of Libyan territory.

Local media sources have said that a number of members of the House of Representatives are preparing for a public meeting in Tripoli. The meeting is aimed at appointing a new speaker for the House of Representatives to support the activation of the political agreement. Local media quoted sources saying that more than 60 deputies representing a number of the country’s different constituencies will attend the gathering to announce “radical reforms” in parliament.
