Flights resumed from and to Mitiga airport in Tripoli after being suspended since Wednesday evening till Thursday midday due to bad weather conditions, reported the airport's media office. It added that all flights inside and outside Libya are resuming gradually despite the natural crowdedness in the airport due to the delayed flights from Wednesday, let alone the difficulties the passengers are facing to arrive in the airport as most roads are blocked of rain water.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA), Ali Mahmoud, has held talks with US Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, on matters concerning the protection of Libyan assets and the development of mutual economic cooperation. Mahmoud and Ross, along with the Assistant Undersecretary of the US Treasury, Sigal Mandelker, also discussed on Tuesday mechanisms for the LIA to invest in a transparent manner. The meeting also touched on the development of economic and trade cooperation, and to encourage and support investment by both countries, as well as ways for the LIA to benefit from investment opportunities available in the United States.

The Administrative Control Authority (ACA) has disclosed financial and administrative irregularities as well as criminal offenses related to the waste of public funds within the open letters of credit of the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE). The ACA issued a decision to stop the letters of credit for the CBIE until previously transferred amounts are settled. It added that the total amounts transferred by the Ministry of Education exceeded 900 million dinars as fees of Libyan students studying in Canada since the year 2010. The Ministry of Education also credited another 152 million dinars to the CBIE, according to a statement issued by the ACA, which indicated that these procedures contain large financial irregularities and fraud related to the public money.

Tripoli's Distribution Department of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has formed a technical operations room to repair sudden faults that may occur during the stormy period as a result of heavy rains in the western Libya region. The Information office of the Electricity Company said in a statement that the distribution Department of Tripoli will provide materials, equipment, cables and transformers to maintain power for the cities. Electricity was cut off at dawn on Wednesday in a number of neighborhoods of the capital Tripoli due to the heavy rain and interruptions continued for several hours before company technicians carried out the necessary maintenance work on transformers and power cables.

The British government said it has allocated 5 million GBP to provide humanitarian support and protection for migrants and refugees in Libya. The British Minister of International Development, Penny Mordaunt, said on Monday that the migrants in Libya face dangerous conditions and exploitation and even “modern slavery”, confirming her country's continuing commitment to work to resolve the main reasons that compel citizens to migrate.

The head of the Medical Convoys Committee at the Ministry of Health, Ashraf Aburquba, has announced the Committee's intention to send medical convoys of various specialties to remote areas in Libya in 2018. According to the Ministry of Health, Aburquba said that the work of the Committee will not only provide free services, but it will also provide mobile medical equipment like the sonar scan, ECG, and radiology devices. Aburquba noted that the Committee will operate analytical departments with facilities containing equipment to do so, as a way to tackle the lack of laboratory technicians in the targeted areas. He added that the committee is planning on expanding their activities by opening surgical operating rooms, which will be run by the committee.
