Benghazi municipal council, which is appointed by the military governor of the eastern region, Abdelraziq Al-Nathori, declared Thursday as a day off in order to facilitate the traffic for the military forces and demanded that the hospitals double up their work in a seemingly new military advance on areas held by Benghazi Shura Council.

Al-Thanni government temporarily stopped non-confidence measures regarding the mayors and municipal members taken by the eastern military governor until the Ministry of Local Governing proposes new measures.

Audit Bureau and Presidential Council committees held a meeting to discuss the fuel subsidiary system and how to find the best alternatives, including smart cards, that can undermine smuggling and makes the distribution of subsided fuel fair for all.

16 of Dignity Operation forces were killed and over 40 others were injured in clashes western Benghazi, Saraya Center, the media wing of the Benghazi Shura Council said. Sources from the city said Lieutenant Naji Maghrabi, the new commander of Brigade 204 Tanks previously led by Mihdi Al-Barghathi, the UN-proposed government Defense Minister-designate, has been injured.

Former Libyan ambassador to the UN, Ibrahim Dabbashi, said he left New York after he sent a complaint to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon saying the UN decided to prohibit him from working illegally in there, stressing that disallowing him from work on that basis will be a dangerous step taken by the UN as it shows it as trying to replace the executive authority.

A number of Al-Ahli Benghazi supporters attacked the building of the branch of the Libyan Football Federation in the city, where the draw of this season’s Libyan Soccer Cup is being conducted. They stopped the process of the draw for the eastern region’s group to protest the start of the draw before the verdict on their team’s plea regarding the match with Al-Ahli Tripoli at Tarhouna stadium in the five-team round.
