Dignity Operation militants abducted three members of the Ghawil family near the coast of Karsa, west of Derna city, Libya Alkhabar news outlet has reported.

Militiamen affiliated with Khalifa Haftar’s self-styled army have usurped several houses and other properties of Dignity Operation’s opponents and the displaced people of the war-torn city of Benghazi, locals have complained.

The Information Office of the Attorney General's Office in Tripoli announced that the Special Deterrence Force, based on an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor, had arrested one of the most wanted criminals in cases related to fuel smuggling and the organization of flights for illegal immigrants. Fahmi Salim BinKhalifa was arrested and placed in custody pending his due court case.

The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) and the Libyan Fund for Internal Investment signed an agreement in Tripoli on Wednesday to finance the construction and maintenance of electric power plants in the western and eastern regions of Tripoli, Misrata and Tobruk with a total capacity of more than 2000 megawatts. The execution of these plans are due to start next October and completion is estimated to take twelve to eighteen months. The agreement signing ceremony was attended by the President of the UN proposed Presidential Council Fayez Sarraj, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GECOL and the Internal Investment Fund.

The Italian ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Perroni, has handed over humanitarian aid to the Illegal Immigration Control in Zuwara, stating that his country is determined to help other municipalities in Libya, especially the southern municipalities, to help reduce the flow of migration.

The Libyan Navy official spokesperson, Brigadier General Ayoub Qasim, stated that they are prepared to tackle the issue of illegal immigration and the new tactics being used by human traffickers. Qasim said in a press statement that the decline in the flow of illegal immigration is due to the presence of the Libyan Coast Guard and Navy forces in areas where migratory boats pass. Qasim added that curbing the work of foreign NGOs has had a positive role in reducing the smuggling of migrants as well as the movement of people in prominent smuggling areas.

A prominent member of the House of Representatives (HOR), Ziyad Daghim, has stated that the UN special envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame is attempting to overthrow the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA). Daghim stated in an interview with the Russian news agency Sputnik that Salame is trying to confuse the situation by mixing and matching the text of the LPA and that there is a certain group benefiting from the current situation and the survival of the UN proposed Presidential Council. Daghim concluded that it is because of the current antics that the HOR should reject any meeting between the HOR and the High Council of State.

Undersecretary of the Minister for Education, Adel Jumma said on Wednesday that the ministry has taken a number of measures to guarantee the rights of local companies executing school maintenance projects through communications made with both the ministries of Planning and Finance. This came during a meeting in Tripoli attended by the director of the branch of the Educational Facilities Authority and project coordinators in the educational areas. The Ministry of Education had previously announced that the allocation of 130 million Dinars for the maintenance of nearly two thousand schools schools for primary and secondary education was to be handed out before the start of the next school year.

The Primary Health Care Office of the Ministry of Health authorized the offices of its subsidiary in Greater Tripoli to begin receiving new students for medical examinations and vaccinations in preparation for the new school year. The head of the office, Tariq Mahmoudi, confirmed that coordination between those providing vaccinations in different municipalities is vital and statistics recorded on any reported cases.

The President of the Republic of Congo Sassou Nguesso called on the President of the High Council of State Abdulrahman Suweihli to participate in the African summit on Libya, which will be held on September 9 in the Congolese capital Brazzaville. The Information Office of the High Council of State said that Suweihli received an official invitation through the Secretary General of the Congolese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Silvestre Mamina, who is on an official visit to Tripoli, noting that the summit will be held with the participation of 15 African presidents.

The head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salameh, held meetings at the headquarters of various financial institutions in the capital, Tripoli. One of the meetings included the head of the Central Bank of Libya, Sadiq Kabir, the head of the Audit Bureau, Khalid Shakshak and the minister for finance in the UN proposed government, Osama Hamad. The official Facebook page of UNSMIL stated that Salame held several meetings in Tripoli regarding Libyan financial challenges and stressed that efforts for a strong and unified financial institution is a top priority to ensure that all Libyans benefit from Libyan financial resources.

The Undersecretary of the Minister for Education of the UN proposed government, Adel Jumma, addressed municipal education monitors on Tuesday, to amend the date of the World Children's Day from 21st of March to 20th of November and Teacher's day from the 10th of March to the 5th of October to coincide with dates adopted by all other countries worldwide.
