The Charge d'affaires of the German Embassy in Libya has headed a delegation consisting of representatives of the German foreign, interior and defense ministries on a visit to Tripoli. The German delegation held talks with Deputy Commander of the Presidential Guard Brigadier-General, Mohammad Lakri, Undersecretary of Defense, Wahidah Najm, and Chief of Staff mandated by the Presidential Council Brig. Gen. Abdulrahman Al-Taweel. Security situations in Libya were discussed as well as the challenges facing Libya in the military field.

Local news sites have reported an altercation between the President of the Libyan Football Federation (LFF), Jamal al-Jaafari, and his first deputy and former international referee, Abdulhakim al-Shalmani, over disagreement on naming the new chairman of the referees' committee. The LFF is about to issue a decision in order to reshape the General Referees' Committee of the Libyan Football Federation under the chairmanship of former international assistant Nasr al-Din Qren. The disagreement between Jaafari and Shalmani revolves around who gets the job; while Jaafari is in support of appointing Qren, Shalmani insists on Abdu-Aziz Al-Sharif.

The Chief of Staff appointed by the Presidential Council Brigadier-General Abdulrahman Al-Tawil met with his Italian counterpart, Claudio Graziano in Rome on Saturday. The talks developed around the cooperation between the Italian and Libyan armed forces and the common will to strengthen the capabilities of the Libyan forces to achieve stability throughout the state, in addition to combating criminal organizations, terrorist networks, and human-trafficking, according to the Italian news agency ANSA. The Italian Chief of Staff said that "the Italian armed forces are ready to support the Libyans when applied for by the Libyan authorities and after the approval of the government and parliament in Rome".

The state-run General Electricity Company announced on Saturday the launch of the operational tests of the Obari power plant. On its Facebook page, the company said that the first flex-fuel loads arrived at the Obari station on Friday and were successfully pumped into fuel tanks at the station. Five trucks were subjected to armed robbery two weeks ago in the western mountain area while carrying fuel from Tripoli to Obari.

The Director of the Sabratha Training Hospital, Dr. Hisham al-Faki, confirmed that the death toll caused by the recent clashes in the city had risen to 11 while more than 32 people were injured with moderate to serious conditions, indicating that the death toll is likely to rise. The city of Sabratha is witnessing fighting since Sunday between the 48th Battalion and what is known as the ISIS Fighting Operation Room, both affiliated to the Ministry of Defense.

Several young citizens of the city of Sabha are planning a peaceful civil disobedience beginning from next week accompanied by protests over security and economic conditions in the city. One of the organizers said that the idea came spontaneously from some young people hence began in contact with each other, especially with who have adopted civil activities before along with others from various social and educational backgrounds.

The Border Sector Commander in Ajdabiya, Bashir Buthfeira, condemned on Saturday the attack on his home in Ajdabiya, calling on the Magharaba tribe to act immediately and shake off what he called the indignity and humiliation from them. In a video clip on social networking websites, he said that they would not accept the one-man rule nor the return of dictatorship, pointing out that what happened to the Magharaba tribe in Ajdabiya will apply to all tribes that dare to oppose autocracy. Khalifa Haftar’s forces set fire to a number of houses in Ajdabiya, including the house of Bouthafira and Salem Jadran, former mayor of Ajdabiya for their rejection to his Dignity Operation.

A spokesman for Benghazi Port, Meftah al-Shuhibi, said that the preparation process of opening the port and resuming work officially is in full swing. Shuheibi added that a new entrance was established for the port beside rebuilding and renewing several damaged structures. The work in the port has stopped since the launch of Dignity Operation in May 2014.
