The United States Department of State has issued a statement backing up the action plan announced by the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Saalme, stressing that no support will be given to any individuals who will try to circumvent the UN-led political process.

Investigation Bureau of the Libyan Attorney General’s Office announced that it will hold a press conference on Thursday, September the 28th, to present preliminary findings revealed by interrogations of ISIS members. It is expected that during this press conference some of the most prominent leaders of ISIS in Libya and their sources of funding will be revealed, in addition to details of ISIS sleeper cells and their terrorist operations carried out in many Libyan cities.

The Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Sarraj, met on Thursday with the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatu Bensouda and a delegation of officials of the court at the headquarters of Libyan Mission To The UN. The Information Office of Sarraj, said that Bensouda explained the difficulties the court faced in implementing court proceedings in some places, but confirmed the determination of the court to prosecute all those who were issued arrest warrants. Bensouda also referred to the cases in which Libyan citizens are being prosecuted and said she would not hesitate to submit new charges on any Libyan whenever the right evidence is available.

The Mayor of Tobruk, Naji Maizak, stated on Thursday during a press conference that the Presidential Council responded positively to the demands of the Municipal Council of Tobruk. The Mayor added that Sarraj provided the chemicals that were requested to continue work on the desalination plant in the city as well as providing two million Dinars as a budget for the management of various projects in the city.

The closure of the border crossing between Libya and Tunisia at Ras Ajdair has continued for the sixth consecutive day. Only ambulances and citizens returning to their countries are allowed to cross. According to sources at the crossing, members of the Border Security Directorate and the committee charged with protecting the border crossing disputed the terms of an agreement which supposed to end the overlap of powers on the Libyan side.

The Long Distance Swimming Championships kicked off on Thursday morning at Tripoli's Shaab Port, with 27 swimmers from different age groups participating. A member of the media office of the Libyan Swimming and Diving Federation, Mohamed Qajam, stated that this competition is a warm up to the Libyan Swimming Championships that are due to begin on the 27th of October, when the top three players in each age group will be selected to participate.

Celebrations were held in Nalut as a group of young men and women were brought together in matrimony in a group wedding under the auspices of the Rahma Solidarity Society and Nalut Municipal Council. The collective wedding was attended by members of the Municipal Council, the Council of Elders and a number of Nalut residents and guests from neighboring areas. The number of grooms on this occasion was thirty five.

The member of the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA), Doa Mansouri, directed harsh criticism towards the road map which was prepared by the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame. Mansouri considered it a return to square one, and contrary to the role of the UN mission, which is limited to political issues. Mansouri stated in a post on his Facebook page that the plan would end the correct path taken to reveal a constitution that could be agreed upon by the people. Mansouri asked where Ghassan Salameh had obtained the power to intervene in the constitutional process, and ignore the fact that the Drafting Body of the Draft Constitution was elected by the people to draft a permanent constitution for the country and that it had completed the first phase of its tasks.

The head of the Sebha Medical Center, Abdul Rahman Arish, said that the fuel crisis in the south in general and in Sebha in particular, is affecting the work of the medical center, stressing that a number of medical staff can not reach the center because of the lack of fuel at official stations and the high price on the black market. Arish added that the absence of a number of staff is affecting the work of the center and the provision of medical supplies.
