The Budget Implementation Committee of the Ministry of Economy green lighted the approval of 1130 companies to import and supply goods from abroad in November, despite the request of the Audit Bureau to cease issuing bank credits due to the massive financial corruption.

The commander of the so-Called Libyan Army Khalifa Haftar is scheduled to arrive in Egypt ‘s Cairo Saturday to discuss possible Egyptian airstrikes on Derna and other cities like Ajdabiya, The New Arab reported Egyptian sources as saying.

The head of the Illegal Immigration Agency in Sabratha, Basim Gharabli, stated that more than 10,000 illegal immigrants were arrested over the short past period. Gharabli added that more than 9,200 of the immigrants in custody were transferred to shelters in Gharyan and Zuwara. Gharabli was quoted as saying that the large number of migrants arrested is creating difficulties in providing them with their due care, despite efforts made by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UNHCR and a number of other local organizations.

The Aafiya Hospital, in Hun city, Jufra, has declared two cases of death over the past two days as a result of the closure of their maternity ward. The ward closed down over two months ago because of a lack of specialists in the field to keep it running. The director of Aafiya Hospital, Salem Fakrana, said in a press statement on Thursday, that five deaths occurred at the hospital during the period of closure of the birth section because of a lack of the necessary means to receive new cases and the absence of a specialist doctor in the area.

Italian Foreign Minister, Angelino Alfano, stated on Friday that supporting economic and legal projects is the most important challenge facing his country in refugee camps in Libya. In a press conference with the European Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Alfano stated that the EU should help Libya meet these challenges. During his meeting on the sidelines of a conference on international humanitarian law, the European Commissioner praised Italy's positive role on immigration issues and their response to the situation in Libya.

The chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sannallah, held discussions with the Director General of the North African Libyan branch, of the oil company Eni, Antonio Panza, on Thursday, in Tripoli, in regards to the development of joint projects in Libya. Sannallah demonstrated to Panza, ongoing operations to connect 11 new gas wells in the second phase of the sea field project, Salam. Sannallah indicated that the NOC is expecting to start operating the first wells by the coming month of May.

The information office of the Derna branch of the Libyan Red Crescent Society, confirmed the arrival of medical aid to the city's medical supply stores from the Ministry of Health of the Interim Government of Abdullah Thini. The shipment included vaccinations and supplies for the national vaccination campaign against polio and measles, dialysis medication and supplies for medical surgeries. The director of Derna General Hospital stated that the materials that arrived does not cover the current shortfall of medicines and medical supplies as a direct result of the city being besieged, causing a difficult situation in the city.

The head of the administrative council of the football club Ahli Tripoli, Sassi Abuoun, cancelled the contract of the Egyptian manager of Ahli football team, Talaat Youssef by mutual consent. According to the Libyan news agency, the administration temporarily assigned the Libyan coach, Adel Khazam, to oversee the training of the team. It seems that the cancellation of the contract with Talaat Youssef has come about as a direct result of the negative results achieved by the team over the past two weeks, which threaten the chances of the team qualifying for the quarter finals that qualify for the African Champions League.

The Mayor of Sirte Municipal Council, Mokhtar Madani, stated that the sewage pumping station of the city is out of order, calling on the General Company for Water and Sanitation to find effective solutions to this problem which has caused the closure of many of the city's streets due to heavy rainfall over the past 48 hours. Madani added that the dilapidated and damaged houses due to the war, have been further damaged due to the rain and floods, noting that the municipality of Sirte has repeatedly warned of this damage and addressed the Presidential Council and the Ministry of Local Governance on the matter. Madani confirmed that the environmental situation in Sirte is in very poor condition and requires the intervention of all parties concerned.
