The syndicates at the Libyan Airlines Company as well as the air transport’s labor and syndicate unions issued a statement on Friday condemning the Thursday kidnap of the CEO of the company, captain Fathi Al-Shati.

Libya’s powerlifting national team has been performing very well at the African Powerlifting Championship in Johannesburg in South Africa. The head of the Libyan team, Munem Ben Hariz, said the Libyan powerlifter Mohammed Al-Rafadi won the gold medal for 83kg adults, while Omar Belrween won the silver medal in 83kg masters, and Ahmed Al-Rougi won the gold medal for 56kg youth.

The commander of the 71 border guards Brigade, Muftah Hamza, said the Libyan army officers, who attended the Sixth Libyan Army Gathering and make up 75% of all Libyan cities, won’t edit their final statement issued in the gathering, adding that they are going to rather implement it.

Schoolbooks are being distributed in all across the country from the eastern bookstores after it took ages for the process to come to effect. The head of the media office in Tripoli-based Education Ministry said earlier that the books will be transferred from the east to other areas around Libya on board of trucks in almost 630 transportations.

Tarhouna municipality allows the circulation and usage of eastern newly printed banknotes by the parallel Central Bank of Libya to follow in the footsteps of other western mountain municipalities. Tarhouna received 25 million dinars today and will distribute money for people on working weekdays.
