The UNSMIL's Head Ghassan Salame brought the second round of the Libyan dialogue in Tunisia's capital to an end on Saturday, stressing that the disagreement remains in place over Article 08 of the additional provisions between the House of Representatives (HoR) and the High Council of States' (HCS) committees.

The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has announced the success of operational tests on the fourth gas turbine at the Ubari gas-fired power plant using light fuel. The information department of GECOL clarified that this initial operation was under the supervision of the General Directorate of production projects of the company, confirming that this turbine will soon be loaded and connected to the electrical grid, and the rest of the turbines will be connected in the near future.

The Special Deterrence Force SDF, also known as Radaa, denied Friday any connection to the demolition of the Bugharara Sufi shrine in Ghararat district of Tripoli. The SDF stated through their official Facebook page that they are investigating this incident and will prosecute the perpetrators of the crime. The force also pointed out that those who have carried out this attack intend to exploit the tension that has come about, especially after their forces raided the district recently. Social networking sites have been flooded with photographs of the demolition of the Bugharara Mosque and shrine, which are approximately 600 years old.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) stated that they have provided humanitarian assistance to more than 7,000 people displaced from the city of Sabratha due to the armed clashes that took place recently. The ICRC explained that they, in cooperation with their partners from the Red Crescent, provided food, household utensils, blankets and hygiene goods to help displaced people meet their needs for essentials. The ICRC also stated that they had delivered medicines and other health items to a number of health facilities in western Libya to treat the wounded from the recent clashes.

The Department of Health Services in Tripoli, in coordination with health office of Tripoli municipalities, is launching a vaccination campaign against polio, measles, mumps, and rubella under the auspices of the World Health Organization and the National Center for Disease Control. The campaign will begin on the 28th of October, at the health facilities that provide vaccinations located within the municipality of Tripoli Center.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Libya, Raudin Anwar, visited the Misrata Free Zone to check possibilities available in the region for investment opportunities. The Ambassador praised the free zone and it’s potential. Anwar discussed with the Chairman of the Board and a number of regional directors exemptions granted to investors, and open prospects for joint cooperation between the two sides in the future.

The Libyan Football Federation has denied news of negotiations with Serbian coach Branko, to take over the Libyan national football team. The federation said that they have entered into negotiations with Brazilian coach Marcos Pacita to benefit from his previous experience and knowledge of the Libyan football team. Pacita led the Libyan team in the qualifiers of the African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon in 2012, and achieved good results during that period. According to official sports news sites, the Libyan Football Federation had recently discussed the negotiation with Branko to succeed the current coach Jalal Al-Damjah, whose contract expires at the end of the month especially after the unconvincing results achieved in the World Cup qualifiers.

A spokesman for the Shura Council of Derna, Mohammed Al-Mansouri, said on Friday that two members of their forces were killed during an encounter with Khalifa Haftar`s forces that are currently besieging the city. Al-Mansouri said that Salim Al-Qarbadi and Abdullah Al-Qaba'ili were killed in the clashes in Dahr Al-Ahmar region, southwest of the city. He added that the two fighters were well known for their stance in defending Derna against ISIS in the previous war yet today they were killed in their fight against Haftar`s armed groups.
