The Ministry of Defence of the UN proposed government announced the formation of a military operations room to secure the city of Bani Walid. The control room is to be named the Bani Walid Operation Room and Brigadier-General Miftah Abu Hariba has been appointed as its commander. Those in charge of forming the room added that the room's duty to take measures and procedures in order to insure the protection and security of the city of Bani Walid. According to the text of announcement it stated that coordination and cooperation with other operating rooms in neighbouring areas, other brigades and security services is a part of the resolution.

Fire broke out at the headquarters of the Mlita oil and gas company in Tripoli after being hit by a random shell as a result of clashes in the capital. The National Oil Corporation announced they had controlled the fire while pictures were circulated on social media sites depicting the damage to cars, houses and public facilities in a number of suburbs of the city as a result of yesterday's clashes.

An announcement by Mohammed Al-Zwei, a member of the Information Office of the General Electricity Company explained the cut in electricity caused by a fault, saying there was a problem with the main input at the Sidi Mansour plant. He added that the fault led to a fire inside the transformers at the Siemens station north of Benghazi. Al-Zwei stressed that they are working on the repair of the faults and input stations of Thamina, Sidi Khalifa, Sidi Mansour and other alternative sources.

The Egyptian Tourism and Antiquities Police announced that a Libyan national has been arrested on charges of trafficking smuggled artefacts from Libya to Cairo illegally. Investigators added that some of the pieces date back to the Greek and Roman eras and that there are joint international agreements between Egypt and Libya through organizations like UNESCO to provide protection for such artefacts and sites.

The fuel and gas crisis committee of the Brega Oil Company, announced that the military council of Nalut seized two trucks smuggling livestock and fruits. The agency state via their Facebook page, that the seized trucks were ready to smuggle to neighbouring countries across the Libyan-Tunisian border.

The head of the former Supreme Security Committee and security adviser to the President of the Presidential Council, Hashim Bisher, announced that the rise in the death toll as a result of clashes in the capital Tripoli yesterday had reached 52 people, as well as dozens of wounded. These numbers are according to the latest statistics released at dawn on Saturday.

The UN Security Council condemned the military escalation in Tripoli and the south of Libya recently, stressing that the solution of the Libyan crisis is not a military one. The Council issued a statement on Friday evening, during which it called on all Libyan parties to exercise restraint and to support a national reconciliation. The Council also stressed the need to open an urgent investigation into the latest events and bring all perpetrators of criminal and terrorist acts throughout Libya to justice.

The National Security and Safety Commission announced that they extinguished five fires in various areas of the capital Tripoli, which erupted as a result of the clashes on Friday. The Commission confirmed on its Facebook page stating "Only by the courage of our staff were we able to extinguish the fires that broke out at the headquarters of the Mlita oil company in the Dahra district, a house in the Hadba area, a fire at the Tripoli Zoo, a fire at camp 77 in Tripoli and another at the missile camp in the area of Tajoura.
