A member of High Council of State, Bilqasim Qazit, has accused the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, of contributing to the political stalemate and not realizing any real plan to resolve the crisis in the country. Qazit said in a press statement that Salame’s action plan is putting a spanner in the works of political change. He called on both the House of Representatives and the High Council of State to shoulder their responsibilities and stop waiting for a solution from Salame. Qazit described Salame as someone who is describing the problem yet unable to draw any solutions, as he is floundering and lacks initiatives based on a deep understanding of the current situation.

The head of Fuel and Gas Crisis Committee at Brega Oil Marketing Company, Milad Al-Hajrisi, said on Friday that negotiations by dignitaries and officials had succeeded in releasing two truck drivers after being kidnapped for days in south-west Libya while transporting a shipment of fuel to the city of Sabha. Al-Hajrisi explained that the two trucks were not yet returned by the armed hijackers, saying that the efforts were still ongoing to retrieve the missing trucks. He added that Brega Oil Company honored the drivers who participated in the process of transporting fuel shipments, which is estimated at approximately one million liters, designed to contribute to ending the fuel shortage suffered in the southern region.

A number of young activists from various Libyan cities are planning to establish a nationwide group under the name “The March 30th Movement” to spread peace in Libya, stop wars and unite the state. The preparatory committee of the movement said their group is a national initiative of independent youth to call for the establishment of a civil state away from the current status quo, ending the transitional period, forming a strong government and ending disputes and division. The committee added that this will not be realized without pressure by the voice of the youth and the uniting efforts of young Libyans to create a public opinion heard locally and internationally through a peaceful, civil and organized movement, which includes all categories and components of Libyan society.

The United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) said it had destroyed 150 tons of explosive remnants of war in Libya, adding that 8 EOD operations had been carried out to clear these remnants on 6550 square meters of land that could possibly contain mines and explosives. The UNMAS confirmed it will continue coordination to the international response to the threat of explosive ordnance in Sirte and coordination with humanitarian partners for the efforts of the return of the Tawerghan IDPs.

A spokesman for the Salafist Sobil Salam Brigade of Dignity Operation, Ahmed Sultan, said on Friday that the brigade was in negotiations with Chadian gangs to release 5 Libyan drivers after the liberation of 8 others kidnapped by the Chadian opposition group. Sultan added that the brigade, based in Kufra town, attacked the Chadian gangs in the area of Saif Al-Shajara and liberated 8 out of the 13 abducted drivers, stressing that they are seeking to release the other drivers as soon as possible. It is worth noting that the drivers disappeared earlier this month on the Libyan border area with Chad called Saif Al-Barli, 300 kilometers from the city of Kufra.

Zuwara Municipality has announced the arrival of the second batch of medicines and medical supplies provided by the Italian Embassy as part of the medical supply campaign presented by Italy to the city. The Municipality added that the aid comes within the framework of the joint cooperation between the Italian Embassy and the Zuwara Municipality. Meanwhile, the Italian Embassy said it has sent the first batch of emergency medical aid to the Municipality of Sorman as part of the solidarity bridge campaign organized by the embassy to support the Libyan health sector.

The Syrian Exporters Association of the Assad regime announced the reopening of the export line to Libya by launching their first cargo ship from Lattakia port to Benghazi.  According to the official page of the association, the ship is carrying more than 300 tons of clothing, and added that this shipment comes after prior arrangements with the Union of Exporters and Council of Libyan Businessmen; both are based in eastern Libya. Earlier, the Minister of Economy of so-called the Interim Government, Mounir Aseer, expressed during his participation in the "Made in Syria Exhibition” in mid-February, his ministry's readiness to open a commercial line with Syria to facilitate the shipment and exchange of goods and commercial products between the two countries.

The Deportation Office of the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency in Misrata announced the repatriation of 751 illegal immigrants since the beginning of this year under the voluntary repatriation program in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration. The head of the Deportation Office, Salah Abu Daboos, said that the agency is holding 350 illegal immigrants from different nationalities, and that they were beginning to refer those who falsified official documents to the Immigration Prosecution Office of Misrata Court.
