So-called Anti-Terrorism Authority of Dignity Operation arrested Col. Edriss Al-Jali, the commander of 10 Infantry Brigade of the operation’s Al-Mukhtar Operations Room. Al-Jali was arrested on counts of treason along with 4 others from Martuba town, 27 km to Derna’s south. This comes as part of Haftar-led forces’ arrest campaign against Dignity Operation officers who are doubted for treason and communication with the PC Defense Ministry.

Al-Taher Al-Senni, the political advisor of the Head of the UN-proposed government’s Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj, denounced the decision to ban Libyans (19-45 years old) from travelling abroad without a security clearance, which was issued by eastern military governor, Abdelraziq Al-Nathori. He tweeted; “the first sign to militarize the country is undermine freedom under the pretext of security like in the old days when we needed security permits for buying a satellite or a printer.”

The Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Abdelrahman Al-Sweihli, met with the Russian, Chinese, South Korean, and Spanish ambassador to Libya on the sidelines of his visit to Tunisia and talked joint interests and cooperation in economy and development. Al-Sweihli urges Russia and China’s ambassadors to positively engage in Libya’s political issue by being neutral and using their international position to issue resolutions leading to halt of violence and armed clashes in Libya, except for the areas where IS still has a foothold.

Al-Thanni-chaired eastern government’s Local Governing Ministry dismissed the elected mayor of Derna to replace him, as per decree No.09 for 2017, with Ehmid Fadlallah Trabeh and a deputy mayor, Abdelmonem Abdelrahman.

The Head of the Audit Bureau Khalid Shakshak said the money transferred to some of the Finance Ministry’s departments are more than what the required sum is, urging the public authorities to return the surplus money to the public state revenue, otherwise; all officials who choose not to comply will be brought to justice.
