The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini, said the EU is open regarding resending the EU attaché to work from Libya’s capital, commenting on Martin Kobler’s call on the EU to return. She added that when the situation is appropriate, especially the security conditions, the EU will be ready to move to Tripoli.

The US representative at the UN, Niki Haley, objected to the appointment of the Palestinian former Prime Minister, Salam Fayyad, as a new envoy for the UN in Libya, saying it is a disappointment to read the UN Secretary General’s statement, in which he nominated Fayyad to succeed Kobler.

Medics at the Benghazi Medical Center’s emergency section had organized a strike after gunmen attacked a nurse in the section, breaking his nose and arm and causing him a lot of bruises, said the Benghazi Medical Center’s media office.

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) said the UNHCR is working illegally in Libya and is giving illegal immigrants refugee status cards without any regard to the Libyan laws and without informing the Libyan authorities. It added that Libya is not part of the 1951 Refugee Convention or the 1967 appendix protocol, so it is not committed to any of their laws.
