The spokesman for Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos, Mohammed Al-Ghasri, warned Barak Al-Shatti’s residents about letting the terrorist groups succeed in controlling the airport and military base of the district, saying it would pose a grave threat to their forces.

The commander of the Third Force – appointed to secure the southern region, Colonel Jamal Al-Treiki, said a pro-Haftar Dignity Operation force coming from Barak Al-Shatti attacked Tamnahent airbase at about 3:00 am on Friday, confirming that their forces thwarted the attack.

Al-Ahli Tripoli management set Friday, January 20, as a date for the friendly match that it will play against Ghana’s Aduana F.C. at Tripoli stadium as part of the preparation for the CAF Champions League. The match could be attended by a committee from the CAF tasked to assess the security situation before a likely decision to lift the ban on the Libyan stadiums.

World Health Organization (WHO) said Libya needs 37.9 million dollars, of which it has gotten only 9.7 million dollars, to fund an emergency plan for the health sector in 2017. The plan is needed in a bid to reach 1.3 million people, 45% of whom are females.

The commander of the northern frontline of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos forces criticized what he called the lack of will in the Presidential Council to provide the needed support for the forces to pursue in liberating Sirte by securing all of the surrounding areas especially that there is some information about regrouping of IS remaining militants in certain valleys in southern Sirte, let alone the attempts to vent through the lines of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos.

A number of education officials and Zuwara municipal members held a meeting at Zuwara’s Guest Palace to discuss the training of the Amazigh language teachers and the development of the Amazigh language curricula. The meeting also discussed the cooperation between with the Education Ministry for provision of subordinating materials and teaching equipment as well as the syllabuses plus the ways to overcome the problems facing the teachers in all of the Amazigh-speaking districts.

The commencement of the Law Students’ patch 37 was held at the Theater of the Silences Faculty with 126 graduates in the presence of a number of deans of faculties at Tripoli University as well as the students’ families and others.

The UN-proposed government’s Presidential Council decided to give 10 million dinars from the emergency assets at the Central Bank of Libya and the Public Treasury at the Ministry of Finance to Benghazi University, saying the university should be committed to a monthly report about its expenditure backed with the bank account statement. The university has been damaged greatly due to the war that has been ongoing since 2014.

The Man-Made River system is still filling up the middle water tank that provides water to Nafousa Mountain cities, which will in turn provide water to other mountain districts with water as it had been cut for months. The system administration said the water cuts in the mountain cities are due to the recurrent assaults and damages in the main water providers, calling all Libyans and officials to help protect this valuable source of life.

GECOL said it had taken all the needed measures in order to increase the output of power at Al-Khaleej power plant from 150 megawatts to 230. According to the GECOL’s Facebook page, the decision came after a meeting between the GECOL administration and the Executive Manager of the power output as well as the Head of Al-Khaleej power plant.
