The Municipality of Central Tripoli warned its residents that sheep traders are not permitted to sell their livestock in residential neighbourhoods of the municipality. The council published a post on its official Facebook page declaring a ban on placing sheep on the roadside in residential neighbourhoods for sale, pointing out that this action is in violation of the law.

Demonstrators in the city of Derna condemned the siege imposed on the city after Friday prayers. Protesters were furious at the continued siege of the city and the prevention of basic materials being allowed to enter the city. Demonstrators held the House of Representatives (HoR) and the UN proposed Presidential Council responsible for the siege, and appealed to the UN envoy to Libya to intervene and save civilian lives. The demonstrators also demanded that urgent relief be sent to the city by sea, stressing that the city's port is ready to receive any aid or basic material that would help ease the suffering of the people as a result of the blockade.

The European Union Ambassador to Libya, Bettina Musheidt, held discussions with Ahmed Maitiq of the UN proposed council and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Sayala, on the possibility of the return of the European mission to carry out their operations in Tripoli. Musheidt confirmed that the EU seeks the return of their mission personnel to work in Tripoli with improved security conditions and implement EU support programs in all sectors according to the needs of the different regions in Libya.

The European Border Protection Agency (Frontex) announced that they are prepared to cooperate with Libya in the field of combating illegal immigration. The Agency's Executive Director Fabrice Leggeri stated that Frontex had sent one of their experts to Libya to prepare capacity building for future management of borders in Libya adding that the agency contributed to the preparation of the Libyan Coast Guard in cooperation with operation Sophia.

The General Electric Company in Libya (GECOL) began installation of an alternative power station in the city of Tarhuna after the city's main network burned out last Tuesday due to a power overload. GECOL confirmed on their official Facebook page that the installation of the alternative station is aimed at reducing load sharing cuts in the city.

The Italian capital Rome hosted a meeting on Friday with the Mayors of southern Libyan municipalities to discuss efforts in combating illegal immigration. A spokesman for the Italian Interior Ministry, who hosted the meeting, stated that the meeting, which was not announced in advance, was sponsored by the Interior Minister Marco Minetti. On the 22nd of May, Italy also held a meeting which included representatives of the southern tribes and a representative of the UN proposed government as part of efforts to combat illegal immigration.

The tribes of Tabu and Zuwyia exchanged 11 kidnapped tribesmen who had been kidnapped for more than a week on the Kufra-Jalu road. Local sources from Kufra reported Friday that the ambulance and emergency services in Kufra intervened to follow up the exchange of five detainees from the Zuwiya tribe and six from the Tabu. The head of the ambulance and emergency services in Kufra, Ibrahim Hassan, said in a media statement that after the efforts made by those who intervened which resulted in the agreement, the ambulance and emergency services were assigned the task of delivery and receipt of the abductees.

A member of the Municipal Council of Misrata, Ali Abusitta, stated that a meeting between the delegations of Misrata and Tawergha was held in Tunisia which also included the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, to discuss a number of points, including obstacles to the implementation of the agreement between the two cities and ways to achieve the return of the displaced to their homes. Abusitta stated that the most prominent obstacle facing the activation of the agreement is the absence of the role of the Libyan government on the ground, pointing out that this agreement requires steps taken on the issues of security, as well as compensation of the affected, and the return of services to the region.

The Archaeological Office of the Municipality of Oujla began maintenance work on the Old Mosque, which is one of the most important monuments and tourist attractions of the city. The office began the restoration process on the section of the mosque that collapsed several days ago due to erosion of the roof timber. The head of the Wahat Archaeological Office, Milud Batrun, stated that they are awaiting the first batch of observers from the Libyan Archaeological Agency to view the work and pay for maintenance costs as the mosque is a classified and protected monument under the control of the Libyan Archaeological Agency.

The Libyan junior football team won second place in the North African football tournament which ended Thursday evening in Rabat, Morocco. Libya finished their last game against Algeria with a two goal draw, bringing the Libyan team to 5 points which put them behind Tunisia in second place on goal difference. Tunisia won the title with the same points as the Libyan team.
