30 hours of closure of the Mellita complex pipeline in western Tripoli lost Libya about 2 million dollars, the National Oil Corporation (NOC) said Monday. The NOC added in its statement that the technical team at the complex reopened the pipeline on Saturday and they did not know who shut it down and what for.

The Special Deterrence Force (SDF) has arrested Sheikh Abdul-Razzaq Emshirib on Sunday night, eyewitnesses reported, adding that at least five military vehicles surrounded Emshirib’s house before snatching him from inside.

The Hajj and Umrah Affairs Committee has announced that the influx of pilgrims returning to the homeland will start on Tuesday after completing their Hajj for this year. The first flight will be arriving at 6 am and further flights will follow. The departure of the Saudi lands will be from Madinah airport. Flight schedules will be provided by the Libyan Airlines, the official carrier of this year’s Hajj season.

The Presidential Council (PC) has given the green light to the Ministry of Health to purchase all medicines and needs of hepatitis and the HIV/AIDS. The PC also authorized the Medical Supply Authority to purchase Oncology and insulin drugs by direct contract after reports of a severe shortage of medicine in the public hospitals.

The Mayor of Sabratha, Hussein Al-Dawadi, met with Italian Ambassador to Libya Giuseppe Peroni on Sunday, according to a tweet by the Italian Embassy. The two sides discussed ways of reducing the flow of migrants from and to Sabratha by strengthening the security within the city. Earlier, Italian media reports accused the government of Paolo Gentiloni of paying millions of dollars to armed groups in Libya in return for stopping the migration from the coast of Sabratha.

The Department of Misdemeanors and infractions in the Tobruk District Court has accepted the case filed by Saif al-Islam Gaddafi against the member of the House of Representatives, Abu Bakr Baira, on charges of defamation and challenging his educational qualifications. The case was registered in the city center of Tobruk, according to Saif al-Islam's lawyer. The claim presented by the lawyer set a date for the court session demanding Baira's personal attendance before the court on October 16 next to the first circuit of the Tobruk Court.

The head of the Fuel and Gas Crisis Committee of Brega Oil Marketing Company, Milad Al-Hajrisi, said in a press statement that the security authorities in the region of Al-Jufra in central Libya had identified the group responsible for attacking fuel trucks in the region during the past days. He added that tight security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that fuel supplies reach the southern region. An estimate of 4 million liters of petrol will arrive at the end of this week, he said.

Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous Operation Room has expressed readiness to cooperate with any party in order to wipe out the ISIS extremists, away from all political strife going on in the country. The deputy commander of Sirte security force, Colonel Ali Rafidah, said that ISIS groups moving south of Sirte are small in number unlike the one eliminated in the past in the center of city, pointing out that the goal of ISIS is to prove its presence on the ground and attract new recruits from illegal migration.

The Mayor of Tajoura, Hussein Ben Attia, has called via a letter addressed to the Presidential Council, the Ministry of Local Government, the Ministry of Interior and the High Electoral Commission, for Municipal Council elections before the end of the council's term in May 2015. In his letter, Ben Attia called to start preparing for the forthcoming elections in the town of Tajoura, the eastern suburb of Tripoli, in order to achieve democracy and guarantee the principle of peaceful transfer of power. He explained that Libyan law and its executive regulations do not allow extending the term of the municipal councils and that elections should be held in March 2018, stressing that the current security conditions do not hinder the elections.

A fire broke out at a hotel in Saadia Street in the city center of Tripoli on Sunday night, the National Safety Department (NSD) has reported. On its Facebook page, the NSD added that two persons were killed in the incident after jumping from one of the hotel floors trying to escape the raging fire while eight of the firefighters reported wounded. The cause of the fire was not reported.

The Arab Organization for Social Responsibility has honored the Libyan researcher, Najib Masoud, for winning the gold medal and the certificate of excellence in social responsibility in the Arab region, which he received from the Aqaba University of Technology in Jordan. Najib was honored as part of the Regional Forum for Best Community Practices in the Arab Region - in its 12th session that was held on 28-29 August 2017 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, for his work on the developed form of the international pyramid of corporate social responsibility (CSR), which was highly acclaimed locally, regionally and globally.
