The United Nations' envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame has announced that the second round of the Tunisia meetings for the amendment joint committee for House of Representatives (HoR) and High Council of State (HCS) will start next Saturday.

The Justice and Construction Party, the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, has issued a statement denying any connection with former NTC member Mohammed Al-Harizi. The statement said that Al-Harizi resigned from the party more than two years ago; thereby his views now do not represent them. This comes after Al-Harizi tweeted about Sabratha's recent clashes, saying that the victors are pro-Dignity Operation, the Salafists, and the former regime supporters who are back in Sabratha and will not hesitate in taking revenge of those who were part of the17th February revolution as what happened in Benghazi and Ajdabiya.

Postponement of the new school year and the teachers' sit-in are “tendentious" rumors published by some social networking pages in order to inflame public opinion, The Ministry of Education's Media Liaison Office reported. The office warned of being duped by the lies and false news spread by these pages, which bedeviled many teachers, noting that the academic year is to begin on October 15 as announced by the Ministry a month ago.

The security services in Misrata have arrested six people on Sunday suspected of having links to ISIS. A security source said that the raids took place in several parts of the city, where the security services found a weapon and ammunition storehouse thought to be for the use of terrorist attacks inside the city. The sources added that operation proceeded well, without loss of lives by trained security officers, after receiving orders from the Attorney General's Office. This operation follows the suicide attack carried out by ISIS on the city's courthouse last week.

A protest was held on Sunday by the teachers of Tajoura suburb of Tripoli to demand salary increase and health insurance. The protesters called on all teachers in Libya to unite together in order to achieve what they called their legitimate rights. In a statement, the school administrators, teachers and staff of the Education Bureau of Tajoura warned that schools will not start in schedule if their demands were not received with effective response from the government.

The head of the Information Office of the Brega Oil Marketing Company, Adel Ben Dardaf, attributed on Sunday the fuel crisis in the eastern region to the strike of truck drivers. In a press statement, Ben Dardaf said that the truck drivers have gone on strike since the first of October, demanding payment of their salaries in cash and not through bank cheques. The director assured that the fuel is available in the fuel depots of the company, indicating that they are working to resolve the crisis as soon as possible.

In a meeting with the Chairman of Presidential Council, Fayaz Al-Sarraj, the directors of hospitals and health centers of the southern region reviewed the needs of their institutions and the shortage of equipment and medical staff. Al-Sarraj stressed to take "urgent" measures to provide their needs and to ensure the activation of a financial incentive law to medical personnel working in the southern region. He pointed out that the Presidential Council formed a crisis committee to deal with the health sector in the south.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has sent a convoy of humanitarian aid to the residents of Zafaran, west of Sirte. Spokesman of the Municipal Council of Sirte, Mohammed Al-Ameel, said the convoy will target more than 700 families with aid, which includes food, cleaning supplies and furniture, pointing out that distribution will be according to the number of family members.

The Libyan mini football team has enjoyed a 2-0 victory over Lebanon in the first match of the second edition of the World Minifootball Federation World Cup in Tunisia. Osama Sulaiman opened the second half with a goal in the first six minutes for the Libyan team before Ali Shushan boosted the score to 2. The Libyan team is to face Portugal next Tuesday in the second round of the tournament.
