The Municipality of Misrata announced on Sunday that "Al-Aqwas Al-Alia", the implementing company of the dialysis unit project in Zawiyat Al-Mahjoub branch, agreed to complete the rest of the work as soon as possible. On its Facebook page, the municipality pointed out that the head of the municipal branch reached out to all stakeholders in order to carry out the remained work for mitigating the suffering of kidney patients who had to travel long distances to get treatment, besides the long waiting period that could endanger their life and health. About 90% of the work on the dialysis unit project was completed, leaving only the exterior maintenance to be done.

The Egyptian authorities in Matrouh Governorate have thwarted an infiltration attempt on Sunday by 177 people into Libya, among them an Eritrean and 4 Sudanese. Al-Yaoum Al-Saba newspaper reported that the security forces intercepted the people as they tried to cross the border illegally via the desert valleys to Libya, assuring that the arrested persons are being held by Egyptian security forces before referring them to the competent judicial authorities.

The Educational Facilities Authority continues distributing school books to all districts of Libya for the start-up of the new academic year 2017/2018. The school bookstore manager, Hussein Al-Rehibi, confirmed that the 51 sub-warehouses of the Educational Facilities Authority had embarked on distributing the remaining stock from the past year before starting of the reception and distribution of the new versions for 2017-2018.

4 people were dead and 9 others injured last September in Benghazi due to landmines and explosive devices, Al-Jalaa Hospital for Surgery and Accidents has announced. The head of the information office of the hospital, Fadia Al-Barghthi, said on Sunday that the hospital received the bodies of 4 civilians among them a Chadian worker from Al-Sabri district, in addition to nine others injured, including cases of amputation.

Petro Air announced on Sunday the arrival of its Embraer 170 aircraft to Mitiga Airport in Tripoli after a maintenance trip that took a long period of time due to the company's financial difficulties. On its Facebook page, the company stated that the plane landed at the airport last Wednesday, noting that it will have a significant impact in fostering the transfer process of workers in the oil fields and ports.

The leader of the peace ambassadors' initiative to end Sabratha conflict, Hussein Al-Hosumi, has said that their initiative seeks grounds for establishing ceasefire and settle disputes between the two warring parties in the city. Al-Hosumi explained that the initiative came from concerted efforts from a group of young people in the western region, stressing that they have reached out to all conflicting parties within the city to mediate a cease-fire, but their initiative has been met with positive response from one side of the parties and with intransigence from the other side. He added that the mediators will meet on Monday in the city of Gharyan and consequently move to Sabratha in hopes of resolving the dispute peacefully. Local sources confirmed that the Salafist Al-Wadi armed group, which fights alongside ISIS Fighting Operations Rooms, is refusing to cease fire, accusing Brigade 48 of being “terrorists”.

The member of the Libyan American Council for Public Affairs (LAPAC), Emadeddin Zahri Muntasser, has appealed to the International Criminal Court and other world organizations to save Libya in general and the city of Sabratha in particular. In a letter addressed to the ICC chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, Muntasser, he called on the ICC to warn the warring groups in Sabratha of the consequences of exposing to archaeological site of the city to danger, urging Bensouda to investigate the damage inflicted the city. “In recent days, the ancient Roman city and World Heritage Site of Sabratha is slowly getting destroyed by crazed warlords and ideological fanatics. This glorious city which witnessed human history and progress for several thousand years may not be around for much longer”. The letter reads.
