The General Electricity Company reported that power transmission lines in Wirshiffana had suffered severe damage due to the armed clashes in the region. The damage affected power supply to Al-Hira district, 50 km south of Tripoli, and the surrounding areas.  The company stressed that it will make an effort to fix breakdowns as soon as security conditions are appropriate.

 Libya's national football team is to leave for Tunisia on November 11 for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. The Libyan team will hold a training session in the city of Sousse for three days before entering the match with a worryingly large gap of 3 points while the Tunisian team has a lead of 13 points at the top of the group, needing only a draw to qualify for the World Cup.

Chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayaz Al-Sarraj, received a telephone call from the Turkish Prime Minister, Binali Yildirm, on Saturday to discuss the abduction of three Turkish engineers in southern Libya. In the same context, Al-Sarraj met on Sunday with the Ambassador of Turkey to Libya, Ahmet Dogan and officials of the Turkish company " ENKA Teknik " executing the project of Ubari gas-fired power plant in Tripoli. According to Al-Sarraj’ press office, Ambassador Dogan said that the project is in its final stages, hoping that the incident will not affect the process of the work. "Our aim is to complete the project, which is a vital achievement for the Libyan economy", he said, expressing hope that security efforts will be successful in bringing the incident to a quick end.

A delegation from the Greek company METKA arrived in the eastern city of Tobruk on Sunday to receive the piece of land on which the city’s new power plant will be constructed. This comes as part of the agreement reached by METKA with Tripoli-based Presidential Council and the General Electricity Company. The spokesman of the crisis and emergency committee in the municipality of Tobruk, Hassan al-Sharif, explained that the delegation examined the construction site of the gas-fired power plant to generate 740 megawatts of electricity. He added that the Greek delegation approved the place that was near the seashore to ensure seamless supplies of fuel for the plant through oil tankers, noting that the equipment of the Greek company will reach Tobruk after 20 days.

Dignity Operation forces besieging Derna opened on Sunday Martuba road to allow ambulances to transport wounded children to Tobruk airport in order to get medical treatment in Tripoli, according to local sources from Derna. The ambulances had been waiting for six days before getting the permission. Dignity Operation forces also gave access to a shipment of medical supplies from the European Union's Humanitarian and Civil Protection Fund to Derna last Thursday after being held in Al-Bayda for more than two months.

Chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayaz Al-Sarraj, issued a resolution Sunday to dismiss Brigadier General Mohammed Ganaidi from the military service. The resolution explained that Ganaidi, Chief of Military Intelligence of Al-Bonyan Al-Marsoon Operation, was dismissed for reasons of public interest. The decision came after Brig. Gen. Mohammed Ganaidi appeared on Tanasuh TV accusing Egypt of being behind the airstrikes on Derna, threatening to take the battle into the Egyptian territory.

Three Dignity Operation fighters were killed and 12 others wounded in clashes with the fighters of Shura Council of Benghazi in Sidi Kharabish neighborhood. Local sources said that the clashes broke out after an attempt of Dignity Operation fighters to move towards the positions of the Shura fighters, who succeeded in repelling the sudden attack. Dignity Operation’s top commander, Khalifa Haftar, announced in July 2017 his forces’ full control of Benghazi.
