Staff of Sabha Medical Center decided on Sunday to suspend work for 10 days due to the abduction of a fellow doctor by an armed group. In a letter addressed to the Minister of Health, the staff confirmed that the management of the Center disclaims its responsibility for any failure of medical services at the center, taking the relevant authorities responsible for providing the necessary security within the city. Dr. Dr. Salem al-Salhab, a surgeon, had been abducted by an armed group while leaving Fezzan clinic last Friday.

The city of Benghazi received a shipment of medical supplies from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The Benghazi Municipality clarified that the shipment was by prior agreement between Benghazi Mayor, Abdul Rahman, Alabbar and UNHCR Representative for Libya, Roberto Mignone, over the past few days on providing some basic needs, which included some medical equipment and materials to be distributed to hospitals in the city.

The spokesman for the eastern-based interim government, Hatem Oreibi, said that the committee charged by the government to investigate with persons working with the Presidential Council is preparing a list of wanted people for investigation in coordination with the security authorities. Oreibi added that the committee "will take all deterrent measures with those who were found to have contact with the Presidential Council and its illegal government by suspending them from duty or referring them to the prosecution office and competent authorities”. On November 15, the government of Abdullah al-Thani formed a committee to investigate with persons accused with dealing with the Tripoli-based Presidential Council and its government, describing them as “traitors”.

The head of the Military Council of Sabratha, Tahir Al-Gharabli, has strongly rejected the outcomes of the Cairo meeting aimed at the unification of the Libyan army under the auspices of the Egyptian regime. On a TV statement, Al-Gharabli explained that the army officers cannot meet under the supervision of a foreign country accused of intervening in Libya’s security affairs, adding that any meeting or dialogue in this regard must be held within the Libyan territory. He added that building a strong military institution in Libya is not in the interest of neighboring countries, stressing on the unity of the Libyan army and the impossibility of accepting any defectors from the army.

Sabratha Revolutionaries’ Brigade, a new formed group affiliated to the military council of the city, has commenced work to protect the institutions of the city. The brigade pledged in its founding charter that it will not allow the return of former regime era or militarizing the state under any purpose. The brigade promised that it would not permit extremist ideologies to be present in Sabratha, stressing its support for the institutions of the army and police and refusing at the same time to jump on the sacrifices of the honorable, according to a statement issued shortly after the foundation. The statement called for respecting the judicial institutions, refusing any attempts of restoring violated rights out of law, or by profane acts.

Several politicians from Tuareg and Amazigh minorities announced a new political party under the name of "Libo" on Saturday. The founders held a celebration in Ubari town in the presence of a number of activists of civil society institutions in Ubari and Tuareg and Zuwara city elders, in addition to other Amazigh representatives from the Nafusa Mountain region. The leader of the party, Fathi bin Khalifa, said in the opening speech that their purpose is to establish a democratic civil government with an open Libyan reference, without separation or exclusion or discrimination to anyone, pointing out that the declaration of the party came from Ubari as a message that the town is safe and enjoys a peaceful life.

The Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency, Tripoli branch, said that it had managed to reunite 32 children from the Republic of Sierra Leone with their families after being separated in Sabratha and Zuwara due to the clashes that took place in Sabratha last September.  On its Facebook page, the Agency confirmed that the children and their families were accommodated at Tripoli headquarters after being reunited and provided with essential necessities including mother and child care needs. The Agency appealed to international and local organizations to provide support to these minors.

The National Center for Disease Control published on Sunday a certificate from the Regional Office of the World Health Organization stating that Libya is free of poliomyelitis and that it has successfully implemented the demands of the National Immunization Program. The director of the Information Office of the Center, Mohamed Kabir, stated that Libya has not recorded any polio cases since 1991, noting that the World Health Organization issued a confirmation in a statement last September.
