Chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayaz Al-Sarraj, received Sunday the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Ghassan Salame. The meeting addressed developments in the political situation and the recent UN envoy talks in Benghazi, according to Al-Sarraj’s Information Office. Salame reiterated his commitment to the political agreement as a bedrock to move towards achieving reconciliation and consensus in Libya. For his part, Al-Sarraj expressed his support for Salame's efforts and the steps taken within the framework of the political agreement and according to the road map he put forward, which will pave the way towards presidential and parliamentary elections.

Aman Organization Against Discrimination (AOAD) has warned the Presidential Council (PC) of the consequences of providing legitimacy to one of the conflicting parties in Sabha, explaining that it considers what is happening right now a solid predictor of a humanitarian disaster against civilians in residential neighbourhoods. In a statement, the AOAD expressed its surprise at the PC statement issued on February 27 on the events in the south in general and in Sabha in particular, in which the PC praised what the organization described as "systematic killings" carried out by militias stationed at the former headquarters of the Fares Battalion. It further noted that it considers the act as an obvious bias to one party of the conflict in Sabha that will further fuel the problem between the Libyan parties, adding that it holds the PC accountable for the consequence of such discriminatory statements.

The President of the High Council of State (HCS), Abdulrahman Al-Suwaheli, met in Tunisia with the Canadian Ambassador to Libya “Ashley Adams” on the sidelines of his visit to the Tunisian capital. The meeting discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, in addition to the recent developments in the Libyan arena, according to the Media Office of Al-Suwaheli. On her part, the ambassador reiterated her country's support for dialogue to amend the political agreement within the framework of the UN action plan, pointing out that her country is looking forward to the return of the embassy and Canadian companies to Libya. Al-Suwaheli called on Canada, as being one of the seven major countries, to assist in finding solutions to the political crises in Libya, stressing his commitment to the provisions of the political agreement and the need to implement the security arrangements contained therein.

A handover ceremony was held at Tripoli Medical Center on Sunday between the former director, Mohamed Hanish, with his successor, Nabil al-Ajili. Earlier, The Presidential Council issued a decision to appoint Al-Ajili as chairman and CEO of Tripoli Medical Centre. The ceremony was attended by the committee charged by the Ministry of Health, and the heads of departments and offices of the center. The new director affirmed that he would spare no effort to upgrade the standard of medical services in the center, stressing his readiness to join hands with others to face the challenges that hinder the functioning of the center.

Member of House of Representatives for Tarhuna city, Abu Bakr Saied, has revealed that steps to unite the Central Bank of Libya have begun, adding that “the honest men will be the safeguard of the unity of the country and its institutions.” On his Facebook, Saied stated that what he called the "corruption mafia " of politicians and others are benefiting from the state of division in the Central Bank of Libya and the collapse in the value of the Libyan dinar in the parallel market, accusing them of using all means to fight the efforts of bringing this institution together. "Despite their attempts to disrupt our efforts, real steps to unite the Central Bank of Libya have been set in motion and there is no way for the train to turn back," he said.

Mayor of Kufra, Muftah Khalil, said that the city is paying the price for being a major transit point for illegal immigration towards the northern regions, explaining that the security services in the city are unable to stem the influx of migrants. In a press statement, he clarified that the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency in Kufra lacks the necessary potentials to combat migrants’ flows, noting that the support provided by the Ministry of Interior to the agency is far too short to address these numbers of immigrants due to the nature of the region and the long and porous borders it shares with other countries. Khalil refused to accuse a particular country of being behind the influx of migrants, pointing out that the issue of migration has become a political issue and a quick way for some for making money.
