The Italian Embassy in Libya resumed Sunday visa processing for Libyan citizens in Tripoli and Tobruk. The Embassy explained through its Twitter account that the new visas will be granted with improved service and lower prices and at less cost, adding that it has set up a special website to facilitate bookings. The Italian Embassy began in July 2017 to grant the Schengen visa for Libyan citizens in the eastern region through its office in Tobruk, which was opened in June.

The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) said that 5940 Libyans abroad have registered on the electoral roll in the period from February 1 to March 10. The data released by the HNEC Sunday showed that Britain had the largest number of registrants, during the same period, by 1319 voters, followed by Libyan expats in Egypt with 1035 voters. Libyan expats in the United States and Canada have reached 750 voters, while the Libyan expats in Turkey have reached 474 voters. The HNEC had earlier decided to extend the registration period for overseas voters until March 12 as aspired to Libyans aboard who were not able to register for technical reasons.

The Minister of Interior of the Presidential Council, Abdul Salam Ashour, said “concessions must be made, although painful, if we to get the homeland to a safe shore.” His statement came after a day of ISIS claims of responsibility for the checkpoint 60 attack, south of Ajdabiya. "We may agree or disagree politically with those who died in the terrorist bombing, but the fight on terrorism remains a common core among the sons of this nation", the minister stated. Ashour added that this attack is not the first and will not be the last, unless the Libyans join together, warning that Libyans will fall easy prey to terrorism if they remain divided.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said it had provided emergency assistance to more than 300 illegal immigrants rescued by the Libyan Coast Guard in three separate rescue operations on Saturday. On its Facebook page Sunday, the IOM clarified that the migrants returned to the Libyan shores after failing to make it to Europe across the Mediterranean Sea. The Libyan Coast Guard rescued about 335 migrants near the Libyan coast, where they were provided with health and psychological services at Abu-Sittah naval base in Tripoli before being transported to Tajoura shelter.

The Assistant Manager of the Diwan of Gharyan Municipality, Nasruddin Al-Fizani, has accused security staff assigned to protect Brega Oil Marketing fuel trucks of preventing the trucks from reaching the city, while allowing trucks heading to other cities to cross Gharyan. Al-Fizani said that such actions were perceived as a collective punishment imposed on the city, after extraditing a group of outlaws to the justice authorities for heisting one of the city's fuel trucks. He called on Brega Company to take action to ensure the flow of fuel supplies to the city in order to enable citizens and institutions to perform their work.

The Head of Tripoli Teachers’ Union, Abu Bakr Al-Abani, said that most teachers responded to the open strike set by the Union to demand improved pay and living conditions. Abani explained that the reluctance of some teachers to participate in this strike is owed to what he called the pressures exerted by the Ministry of Education, clarifying that among the municipalities that refused to take part, were Abu Salim, Souq Al-Jummuah and Tajoura.

The Libyan Interior Minister of the Presidential Council government Abdelsalam Ashor discussed in Tripoli with the Turkish ambassador to Libya, Ahmet Aydin Dogan, the possibility of scraping visa obligation on Libyans. According to the ministry's media office, Ashor called for the return of the Turkish companies to Libya along with the Turkish airliners. Dogan, on the other hand, expressed readiness on Turkey's side to boost joint relations and cooperation with Libya, especially in security. Last April, Turkish embassy in Tripoli started accepting visa applications for Libyans.
