The General Authority for Searching and Identification of Missing Persons announced the discovery of a new cemetery in the agricultural project (5 km) in Tarhuna.

The authority indicated that it would start exhuming the bodies from the cemetery Saturday, adding that the total number of tombs discovered this month rose to 10 cemeteries with approximately 50 bodies.

Last week, the commission had exhumed three unidentified bodies from two cemeteries located in the same area while the specialized teams are working to verify other reports in this connection.

Since the liberation of Tarhuna in June 2020, the Search and Identification of Missing Persons has discovered hundreds of mass graves left by the pro-Haftar Kani militia, but only some of those victims were identified and received by their families.
