The new Minister of Interior of the Presidential Council (PC) Fathi Pashagha has formally assumed his duties in replacement of the former minister Abdulsalam Ashour.

During the handover ceremony held at the ministry's HQ, Pashagha pledged to develop a human rights department within the structure of the ministry.

He added that the security arrangements implemented in the capital during the past few days will be in the public interest of the people.

The PC has made ministerial amendments including the ministries of Interior, Finance, and Economy, in addition to the Youth and Sports Authority.
