The committee tasked with excavating mass graves has unearthed two new bodies from a site in the Souq Al-Jumma area of Tarhuna.

The Ministry of Justice announced on its official Facebook page that the two, as yet unidentified bodies, were recovered in a complete state, one wearing military attire, whilst the other was in civilian clothing.

The Ministry went on to say that the committee received a tip as to the location of the grave and subsequently a thorough search was done in the area in accordance with recognized scientifically approved standards, using a stratigraphic drilling scanner, which examines the layers of earth with equal dimensions and varying depths.

The excavation was carried out under the direct supervision of highly qualified forensic specialists to protect the integrity of the human remains and the grave site for future investigations.
