The newly elected Mayor of Bani Walid Salem Nuer assumed his duties officially as the first elected mayor of the Municipality of Bani Walid on Wednesday after a handover ceremony between him and the Head of the former Local Council Ali Al-Nukrat.
The ceremony was held under the supervision of a committee formed by the Ministry of Local Government and in the presence of the subcommittee of the Local Government elections and members of the former Local Council.
The city of Bani Walid elected their municipal council on the 15th of last September and was marked by a good turnout.
Nuer was inaugurated as mayor of Bani Walid in a ceremony held in Tripoli on October 30.
