The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) has disclosed that there are 823,000 people in the country in need of urgent humanitarian aid.

The NCHRL indicated that it had launched an emergency humanitarian and health response plan for tackling the novel coronavirus, in cooperation with the World Cooperation and Relief Organization and the Ministry of State For Displaced Persons Affairs of the Government of National Accord.

The plan targets the most vulnerable and needy groups, namely children, women, displaced persons, IDPs, migrants and, asylum seekers in all Libyan-state-run detention centres, according to the NCHLR.
