The Mayor of Tripoli, Abdul Raouf Bait Al-Mal, said that they had begun demolishing the HQ of the Military College for Girls on Omar Al-Mukhtar Street after receiving it recently from the Ministry of Interior.
Bait Al-Mal explained that the municipality intends to build a park and other entertainment places for people instead, pointing out that this comes under the orders issued by the Interior Ministry to evacuate all vital places in Tripoli from any military sites.
The Presidential Council had instructed two days ago the Ministry of Interior and the Chief of General Staff to evacuate the Military College for Girls and to hand it over to the Municipality of Tripoli Centre within 72 hours.
