The member of the House of Representatives, Hamouda Sayala, said that the amendment made in the constitutional declaration to immunize Article VI of the referendum law, runs counter to the most elementary standards of the equality of citizens.

"There is no such thing as constitutional immunity of a law, either the article is part of a law or a constitutional article, which both must be approved by specific voting mechanisms," Sayala said in a press statement Tuesday.

Syala pointed out that the centralization and marginalisation problem must not be solved at the expense of others citizen's rights, noting that the issue should be addressed by administrative procedures and not by constitutional clauses.
