The Missing Migrants Project of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said that the death toll of migrants in the Mediterranean Sea has risen to more than 20 thousand since 2014.

The IOM added that a ship wrecked off the coast of Libya last month as well as 12 other fatal accidents in other areas have all led to this toll.

The director of the International Center for Immigration Data Analysis of the IOM stated that at least 91 people disappeared after a boat sank off the Libyan coast on the ninth of last February in the last case of a disappearance of migrant boats travelling to Europe.
