The Administration of the Man-Made River Authority (MMRA) announced a fresh attack on one of the wells operating in the southern field, explaining in a statement issued Monday that the attack was carried out by disassembling the electrical power transformer of the well and stealing the copper wiring throughout.

The MMRA condemned the attack, saying in a statement: “Evil hands are still interfering with a major source of life in Libya, robbing the citizens of their basic rights.”

On Saturday, the MMRA announced that a leak had occurred in the water transmission line (Tazerbo-Benghazi), located close to the city of Awjila, which caused large quantities of water to be wasted.
